We purchased two turnoff valves from the plumbing supply store to be sure there wouldn't be any delay in completing the work we had to be done. We expected that the dripping faucets would be repairable and that proper replacement parts would be available on the service vehicle.

When contacted for the plumber to come to our home, we thought there would be one plumber for two hours. What actually happened is that two plumbers showed up for one hour each concurrently. This became a factor in that the two dripping faucets had to be replaced instead of fixed. [Due to our ignorance of reputable manufacturers selling two lines of product (less expensive non-reparable, more expensive-reparable) through "big box stores", we had purchased the less expensive faucets which now had to be replaced.]

As soon as I was told this, I made the trip as quickly as possible in order to choose the price/style of faucet to purchase, and to save time since the time remaining was limited. I assumed that the travel time needed to pick up parts would be counted as work time on the part of the plumbers. The fact that we essentially had only one hour for the work to be completed caused concern.

The plumbers were courteous and explained the situation well once they had a chance to assess our situation. They prepared the two worksites while I went for the new faucets and completed the work in time.

"Eco plumbers did a great job cleaning out our main sewer line to the street. Our technician, Trenton, was friendly, knowledgeable, and had our line clear in less than 30 minutes. He tested thoroughly before he wrapped up, and he cleaned up after himself well. The price and 1 year warranty are competitive. I will definitely call Eco again!"

"The company was on top of their game to make sure my shower was exactly how I wanted it. There was a miscommunication with the shower doors and the company took care of it immediately, I am extremely satisfied with the way it was handled."

"I called for some various home repairs, but once a leak was discovered in the flooring, Joe and his team agreed to complete a fast turn bathroom remodel. He was thorough, attentive to detail, and incredibly communicative. The quality of the work was really good across the board. He was always on time and was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process, making recommendations and problem solving on the fly, even responding late nights and weekends. He was gracious with issues that arose throughout the project and Dedicated to making sure things happened just the way I wanted. He took the additional time to do things the right way and make sure everything would be easier to address if future issues arise. He and the team were amazing with my three dogs and cared for my house the way I would, ensuring things were cleaned up each day. I’m thrilled with the results and highly recommend this team for any project."

"Our home came with an Everdry warranty, 5 years later, we put it to the test!Everdry was fast, efficient, and friendly. They ended up having to dig down to the foundation of our house on 2 sides. They were amazing! The dirt was contained while the work was on going and once the project was complete they put everything back. Even the neighbors noticed their service and speed. The best part was there were no extra or hidden fees. All services were covered in the warranty. I Would highly recommend the company, the work, and the warranty!"

"The work that was provided was performed promptly and the crew leader was responsible and offered some extra interior drain lines due to the fact that the crawl space was extremely open making it very easy to do their work. They did the extra exterior drain line installation per the contract footage pricing to take the sump line to the street curb. very quickly and appearing to be quite well done. The testing of the sump action when they added water to the interior sump pit showed a quick deposit of water into the street. However, I am still seeing evidence of water in the CMU surfaces above elevation of the new interior drain line that was installed. I assume this to indicate that something should have been done at the wall exterior to take water away from the foundation (probably the J-channel installation)."

"Faith Built was hired to complete a master bathroom remodel for our home. From start to finish, this company has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Cory and Rob (co-owners) were prompt in all of their communication with us, and the team that worked in our home did spectacular work and were always professional and courteous in their interactions with us. The project was fairly extensive- ripping out an old cast iron tub, taking down old subway tile and baseboard heaters, and installing new light fixtures, a shower, painting, flooring, etc. Throughout the project they kept me up to speed on progress, discussed any unknowns they had run into and how to resolve it (like old plumbing that needed fixed), etc. I could not be more pleased with how the master bath looks now!"

"They came out and confirmed I needed a new kitchen faucet. To save money, they suggested that I purchase the faucet. I agreed to do so that evening, so the technician worked with the office and scheduled an installation for the next day. He arrived early, installed the faucet, cleaned up after the installation, showed me the handbook, and shared I should register the faucet online. The sink hole cover I purchased (for where the sprayer originally was located) wasnâ t the correct size so he told me what size I needed to purchase. It was a very nice experience working with this company."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Asbestos is commonly found in certain older homes, depending on the time period in which they were built. Asbestos use in home construction began in the 1920s and peaked after World War II before being limited by legislation in the ’70s, so a house constructed in 1880 is unlikely to contain asbestos, while one built in 1950 is much more likely to. Research a home’s history to determine the time period when it was built and any renovations made since.

Damaged tiles can release asbestos fibers into the air. Anyone in the surrounding area who may inhale the fibers will have them settled in the lining of internal organs. Over time, it may lead to serious health conditions such as lung cancer and mesothelioma.

The only safe way to prevent these conditions is to avoid exposure to asbestos at all costs, even for a short period of time.

Asbestos is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of cancer. Inhaling asbestos fibers is linked to several respiratory issues, including asbestosis, or scarring on the lungs, lung cancer, and mesothelioma, another type of cancer. There's also a link between asbestos exposure and an increased risk of colon cancer and other cancers of the digestive system.

Usually, the people most at risk for disease related to asbestos exposure are those who spend a lot of time working around the material without protection. Electricians who work with asbestos wire have a higher risk of developing mesothelioma or lung cancer due to their exposure.

If your home was built before 1989 and still has original vinyl, there’s a high probability of asbestos mixed into the old flooring, which can harm you and your family if it’s disturbed from removal. If you suspect that you have asbestos, you’ll want to call in an asbestos removal expert to evaluate the situation.

Asbestos-containing materials are not easily affected by water and do not disintegrate or dissolve when exposed to it. However, porous materials can deteriorate due to water exposure, leading to the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The settling of asbestos fibers can also occur as water makes them heavy, which reduces the risk of airborne exposure, though future disturbance of the materials could cause risk. Wetting asbestos-containing materials does not constitute safe removal, and the proper handling and disposal of asbestos materials should be left to professionals.
