"Four years ago I had updated my fiberglass showers to tile and glass but had non stop leaking issues after only one year which resulted in a lot of wasted time & money trying to find the source of the problems. I found TK Contracting and we decided to tear it all out and start over which was the correct move because we found the source of the issues. TK was conscientious of the finished tile work but more importantly I have peace of mind knowing the underlying structure is waterproof and built correctly this time as they explained and communicated to me what they were doing and why. "I am sure that all positive reviews for this company are fake. Nothing that was promised to me was delivered. My siding project is still ongoing for over 1 month. Was told that it would be done in week. Had one rain day. They have system like this: 1) sales person who never installed anything he will promise you things that obviously are not true, 2) crew that is subcontracted but not Gunner, mine was driving for over 2 hours away, 3) person who oversees the project but has little control over anything, no supply, doesn't know the crew, crew does not listen to him, main office does not listen to him, 4) main office does not reply to you. They just tell me to talk to project manager who has no control. So you understand that if there are any issue you are on your own. Quality or work is not good. Many times I had to point to the crew what's wrong, planks are broken yet they were still installing it, caulking is done they way that I can do it better, they cut wires to awning etc"

"This company was excellent. After having several estimates, a co worker recommended Yoder and we decided to go with them. Jonas was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The windows are excellent quality and the price was more than fair!! We had all of our windows and our front door replaced with a higher quality product and for cheaper than several other estimates we received. They completed the project in less than one day and when they left the only way you would know they were there were our beautiful new windows. They did an excellent cleanup job. The crew was all very pleasant, respectful, and they even changed their workflow to get my son's room done first so he could nap. I could not be more pleased or recommend this company highly enough."

The cheapest and most inexpensive way to side a house is to use vinyl. Vinyl is very low-cost but may not last as long as natural materials or metal. However, it often lasts the same length of time the owners plan on living in the home (about 20 to 40 years). Certain types of vinyl siding, like vinyl shake, can be as low as $3 per square foot, but ask a siding pro if the lowest-cost option is the best material for your particular home. 

Contrary to popular belief, people still do use aluminum siding for their homes—but it’s much less popular than it was in the mid-1900s. The introduction of various types of vinyl siding as an affordable option reduced the demand for aluminum, which is prone to scratching and denting and needs to be repainted every five to 10 years. Given the abundance of house siding options, especially newer and more popular types like stone veneer siding, aluminum siding has simply just fallen out of favor.

Mildew grows into porous wood, making it more difficult to remove than regular dirt (and more destructive). We suggest using a dedicated mildew and mold fungicide to remove mildew, which is found in any local home improvement store. Apply a dose of the fungicide to the siding and leave to work according to the instructions, usually for an hour or two. Then wash it thoroughly away and scrub the spot again. Repeat the process if necessary. If nothing is removing the mildew stains, you should plan on removing those clapboard planks in time, as their damage could cause future problems.

Clapboard siding is traditionally made of wood, and is one of the most common types of wood siding in North America. When people talk about wood siding, they are usually talking about clapboard siding. However, not all wood siding is in the clapboard style: It can be tongue-and-groove, shake, and other designs. Also, clapboard siding can sometimes be made of different materials, like vinyl or fiber cement, so the terms are not interchangeable.

You should consider acclimating the wood for your shou sugi ban siding for around two weeks before installation to balance its moisture content and prevent warping. That additional step will ensure your materials are prepped for installation, avoiding complex repairs down the line.
