"Very friendly company and people, Wayne the owner is very down to earth and respectful, he makes sure the job is done right and in a timely matter. He gives you fair prices for what needs to be done and will not over charge. I had a great experience with him and his company. They did an awsome job, we had a truck that ran into our brick shop, then our full size oak tree a few months later fell onto the shop. His team, removed the tree and made it look like it was never there, replaced my whole fence, repaired the roof where the tree fell onto it, then rebuilt 1/4 of the shop where the truck went into it. Awsome job all the way around."

"Had Rock Steady Builders build my pole barn/garage and would definitely recommend them. They prepped the site built the structure and had the concrete poured. They stayed on budget and the job was done quickly. We are looking to have another building built in the near future and will definitely be getting ahold of Christine to build us another pole barn."

Garages questions, answered by experts

We recommend hiring a garage door professional to install a garage door opener for you. Garage door openers aren’t terribly complex, but setting them up properly, setting the lift and drop speed, and installing sensors that work correctly can take a few hours for a DIYer. The cost to install a garage door opener is around $400, and it will save you a lot of time and frustration. Garage professionals have the skills and equipment necessary to work with potentially dangerous garage door components, like springs.

Although the cost of glass garage doors is a concern, a bigger concern is safety against high-wind storms and burglars breaking the glass. If you use tempered or impact glass on your garage door, it’s more shatter-resistant than standard glass. This is safer in a storm where you don’t want shards of glass flying around. However, if a burglar wants to access your garage, the glass door is easier to break into than a solid wood or metal garage door.

There is a reason many commercial garages and storage facilities have roller garage doors. They stand out as one of the most secure options due to their unique design. The compact installation and absence of visible leverage points on the sturdy aluminum curtain make them a formidable obstacle for potential intruders.

The difference between vinyl and rubber garage door bottom seals comes down to cost, flexibility, and climate. Vinyl is the budget-friendly option, lasting well in moderate climates and resisting wear and tear. In colder climates, it can get stiff and make installation more difficult. Alternatively, rubber offers more flexibility, even in freezing temperatures, and better sticks to uneven surfaces. Rubber is more expensive but tends to be more adaptable.

In addition to being less expensive, nylon garage door rollers are actually much quieter than steel rollers. However, many homeowners find that they wear out prematurely compared to steel. In general, more expensive steel rollers are more durable. However, their nosiness can make them less than ideal for garages that are located beneath a home's bedrooms.
