"We had retrofoam added to our interior walls to mitigate sound between bedrooms. The quoting process and scheduling the work was very quick, easy, and affordable. Initially, there were some quality issues with the drywall work that was done. However, after voicing some concerns, Dan their service manager went way above and beyond to come make things right. Couldn't be happier with their customer service and the end result of the job."

"Project: Installed hard-wired smoke alarms. I purchased the smoke alarms on my own which was not a problem. I liked that the company bills by the job instead of the hour; he stopped by the house to evaluate the job; the estimate was free. They responded to my initial request within a few hours; leaving me a voice mail and a text. Dave was professional. He was on time, quickly installed the smoke alarms, and tested them. Afterward, he swept up the debris on the floor before my dogs could walk through it. I have 2 small dogs. He was friendly toward them and they liked him as well. You have to trust their instinct! I would hire Savon Home Improvements for further needs."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

Yes, egress windows must meet local building codes for size and accessibility. Professional installers ensure compliance.

To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
