Small jobs welcome

"Brian is a quality guy and does a quality job! We needed our kitchen walls skimmed (we had taken off a bunch of old wallpaper and the walls had been torn or had glue on them still). We also needed a bunch of repair to holes in the kitchen ceiling from leaky pipes that were repaired. Brian took the job on. One aspect I liked about working with Brian is his communication. He clearly set my expectation for when he would arrive and what the goal was for the day and when he would be leaving. He as considerate of our home, and looked after our items so they didn't get full of drywall dust. He has good attention to detail, and was easy to talk with. When he left, my wife and I could get to painting. I'm thankful Brian took on this job, it fit well in between some of his commercial work. I recommend Brian and his work at drywalling."

"Speedy Drywall Repair is definitely the team you want! They are fast, professional, and did a great job repairing both walls and ceilings. They can do the swirl pattern that others say "sorry, can't do that! " You will be happy you hired them. I am! They repaired 3 areas, including almost a full ceiling in 3 hours! No waiting for mud to dry...they use a fast dry method and guarantee it for life. If all contractors were this good...what a wonderful world it would be."

"The project went wonderfully. They showed up when they said, accommodated our unusual schedule, put plastic and cardboard everywhere they needed to work, moved huge furniture and completely cleaned up everything...including vacuuming and cleaning trim. And all under original estimate. We had miscellaneous drywall patching and fixing work throughout our house and they made everything look beautiful. As an architect, I almost never find people (especially young people) so willing to go above and beyond to make a project go so smooth. They did more than expected and were pleasant, respectful and were great at communication so we knew what to expect every day. We will hire them for future projects and very highly recommend them for any drywall project...residential or commercial."

"I hired The Patch People to skim coat and finish my living room of an old house that had textured walls. Bob and Chuck arrived on time, were very professional and protected the rest of my house from dust and cleaned up when they finished. The job was done on schedule and what a difference it made, its beautiful! They are a family-owned company who takes pride in their work and at the price they quoted I highly recommend them. I will defiantly be using them again."

"If I could rate this company 10 ⭐️’s I would. I called Kris on short notice to redo a big drywall job that another contractor botched. He promptly called me back and arranged to fix it ASAP. What really impressed me was Kris’s work ethic (him & his crew worked Labor Day!- unheard of!) and attention to detail. It looks beautiful! Also; they meticulously cleaned up after themselves and were very professional and friendly. I will be calling Kris for future projects as they are the best!!!!!!"

"This was the first time using a contractor through Home Advisor. I usually seek out service providers through word of mouth or BBB. My experience with CBaxter Masonry has been exceptional. I needed a landscape retaining wall straightened in several sections. When they quoted me my job, I had several other priority items to deal with. CBaxter was very patient with me and answered all my questions even though I wasn't ready to move forward on my retaining wall project. When I was finally ready to tackle the retaining wall, they promptly put me on the schedule and actually came out to do the work on the day they promised. They tore down my retaining wall and rebuilt it. They were very fast, efficient and left the work site undisturbed. If you didn't know I had my retaining wall redone, you wouldn't have known they came and did the work. They even re-spread the mulch that was moved back. I am truly impressed and will use them again for any of my masonry work. They were a bit expensive compared to the other bids, but it was worth for the work and quality I got. Furthermore, they did a better job than the landscaper who originally put the retaining wall in."

"Our stone pillar was destroyed and we struggled getting help to repair. Ronnie passes by our house frequently from job to job. He couldnt bare to see the damage so he stopped and insisted that he be given an opportunity to fix the damage. A true professional is someone who cares deeply about their work, so deeply that they could not bare to sit by and watch poor quality tarnish the reputation of the profession in its entirety. Ronnie is a true professional and i would definitely hire him for all my masonry needs."

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

While vinyl is the least costly material for building a retaining wall, the most cost-effective method is to use wood or concrete blocks for a DIY retaining wall under 2 feet tall. Wood is inexpensive but lasts 20 years or more with care. Concrete can cost a little more but is stronger and will last longer with less maintenance.

The longevity of flood walls depends on how they were constructed, but most wood, gravel, and cement flood walls last 10 years. While aluminum flood walls may cost far more initially, they can be a good investment as they can last decades and will not be damaged by exposure to the elements.

Yes, including patterns, finishes, and plant integration for aesthetic enhancement.

Yes, to build a retaining wall, a permit is required. Similarly, any repairs or modifications to an existing retaining wall require permits. If the planned wall measures higher than 4 feet, most municipalities require designs and permits come through a licensed engineer. In some locations, if the wall is shorter than 4 feet, a permit may not be required. For the requirements in your area, contact your local government.

Generally speaking, a retaining wall should be between 3 and 4 feet high, depending on variables such as the wall-building material, the purpose of the retaining wall, and more. If you want your retaining wall to be taller than 4 feet, check with your local building ordinance office for the maximum allotment. You may also need a special permit for retaining walls over 4 feet tall.
