"Extremely happy with Pinpoint Painting. I had the interior of my home painted, as well as some work done to remediate ceilings which had preciously been popcorn ceilings. The price was fair, and the work was first rate. The free color consultation was an added bonus. The painter was also meticulously clean and communicated well with me to ensure minimal disruption to my ability to use my home while the work was in process."

"James did a great job painting our home interior. I couldn’t be happier. Kept me in the loop on progress and was very professional. Walls look good as does the ceiling. Made sure furniture and floors were protected. And cleaned up throughout when finished. Finished project a day early! I would definitely recommend or use Pro Painting again. Side note- he found my husband wedding ring from a few years ago, when it flew off his finger while cooking! Never imagined it would be found."

"I had multiple rooms to be painted in my house. Anna and Gina were well versed in painting and painting products. They explained to me the difference between paints and stains. What paints hold up the best both inside and out. I was pleasantly surprised I would definitely refer them to friends and other people. Thank you for the great work Anna and Gina."

"We are beyond satisfied with the excellent painting job that Steve and his company did in our home. Steve was prompt to come and give us a reasonable estimate. He and his crew showed up exactly on time. The crew was very professional, and had a system to get the job done. Unbelievable the amount of work that was done in just three days. We had contracted to paint walls to open living room and foyer with stairs, dining room, kitchen with eating area, office, half bath, hallway, and master bathroom, upstairs two bedrooms, bathroom, and hallway. The whole house looks amazing. When the crew was finishing up, I asked Steve if they could sometime paint the master bedroom to look as nice as the rest of the house. He said they would stay over and paint it that day! I was so impressed that the crew stayed and made sure I was satisfied with everything. Before leaving, Steve walked through and examined their completed job. I highly recommend contracting with Bennetts Best for Less Paint."

Small jobs welcome

"From the initial meeting with Mark and continuing to the follow up on completion, the communication and scheduling flexibility was great. The professionalism, skill, and conscientiousness of Logan and Preston were 2nd to none. They painted 2 bedrooms, foyer, hallway, family room, sunroom, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, and 11 interior doors. They said 5 days and it was complete in 5 days. Daily review of work completed by Logan to confirm our satisfaction with both the painting work and clean up. Quality workmanship and passion about being sure the customer is satisfied. Highly recommend this group and we will be using them again."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.

The list of what removes caulk residue includes rubbing alcohol. In some cases, rubbing alcohol can also help remove water-based caulk. However, old caulk or caulk that’s in layers from years of upkeep and projects might prove to be too much for simple rubbing alcohol and may require a caulk-removing solution from a home improvement store.

While the EPA provides guidelines for homeowners to perform DIY lead paint removal, it is a risky process and generally not recommended due to serious health risks and strict regulatory requirements. The process requires precise safety precautions, such as wearing a respirator and protective eyeglasses, creating sealed exits, and using a HEPA vacuum for cleanup. To ensure the job is done safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations, it is highly recommended to hire a professional lead abatement company. Certified professionals have the necessary training, experience, and specialized equipment (like chemical strippers and HEPA vacuums) to handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.

It’s best to use a slightly slower-working paint remover that is safer to use, such as mineral spirits, because the strongest spray paint removers are often also the most toxic. Many of these products contain dangerous chemicals, such as methylene chloride, which the EPA banned for most uses in April 2024 after it was established as a major carcinogen.
