"Bought a home security system and tech equipment to be monitored and dispatched by ADT. Love the new sensors for windows and doors, you can barely see them but they never miss something opening or closing. Thank you Dennis and Team for your help today! You guys did a terrific job."

"System order, setup and delivery went fine.  Security One was prompt to follow up via email and phone to let me know that the product had shipped and when to expect delivery.  Once the product was delivered I called them to clarify installation.  I was a minor matter of how to align the widow sensors.  They were prompt and helpful.  When I was done with the install they walked me through the activation process to ensure that all the sensors were working.  The Security One customer service rep then walked me through all the features of the system and how it worked.   A few days after the activation I had a question on arming the system.  I called the customer service rep and got a quick response to my question.  I am very pleased with the results thus far.

"Installer arrived at pre-determined time and date.   I could not make out his signature on the contract.  He was very professional and through.   He installed the sensors on all windows and doors as we requested or he recommended.  When finished he took his time to explain the operation of the system and the remotes.

"great.
they did all that was asked. stuck to budget. they submitted paperwork for rebate through gas company.
work was done quickly and according to schedule.
Ray was easy to work with and knowledgeable. easy to communicate with.
NCEM submitted my rebate form, but there was a delay somewhere. the gas company had them re-submit.
at post -inspection, changes were needed. NCEM did those at no charge (including buying and hanging a new louvered door in my basement). Again, Ray did more than was asked.
in the end, I just got my rebate, as promised. the work has kept my house insulated. we'll see what winter brings... for now, i'm happy with the work done.

Security Doors questions, answered by experts

Home security cameras typically do not record continuously 24/7. Most options use motion detection technology to trigger recording when they sense movement or a significant change in their field of view. This approach conserves storage space and reduces the need for constant monitoring. When motion is detected, the camera starts recording and may send alerts to the homeowner. However some cameras offer the option for continuous recording, but this requires substantial storage capacity and may overwrite older footage when space runs out.

The cost of home automation averages around $1,000, with most projects falling between $200 and $2,000. The total cost depends on several factors, including the level of automation, brand, system features, home size, and location. For a DIY approach, basic home automation technology can cost between $100 and $500, though the scope and interaction between products may be limited. High-end, all-inclusive systems for larger homes can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $150,000, especially when they include smart appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers that require extensive wiring. Additional costs, such as subscriptions for maintenance services, can also impact the total price. It's often helpful to set a budget and consult with an expert to determine the best options for your home.

You should always install cameras at exterior doors and windows. Other areas where you should place cameras are your front and back yards, the garage and driveway, common living areas, hallways and staircases, and the basement. Remember, you can start with a small Wi-Fi security camera system and always add more cameras if needed.

Each has its use, depending on the scenario. Security doors are primarily intended to keep people out of the home, while storm doors are used to protect the home from extreme weather. Both tend to be made from heavy-duty metal and may include glass panels to allow light to enter the home. Storm doors can feature mesh screens, just like screen doors, to allow for increased ventilation and to keep out pests. Security doors rarely, if ever, have mesh screens.

The main difference between different security sensor options is the type of motion each detects. A motion detector monitors obvious movements in hallways, entrances, and exits. On the other hand, a presence detector is more sensitive and captures smaller moves. A window sensor typically focuses on the opening and closing of the window, whereas a glass break sensor alarms you when a glass is broken.
