"ight from the start I felt very comfortable and in good hands with Comprehensive Mold Management. Linda, the Customer Relations Manager was so easy to speak with and her demeanor instantly calmed my fears. My questions were answered in a straightforward manner and her guidance and follow up throughout the process were top notch. Ken from CCM met my husband without me and my husband, who wanted to ignore the issues in our home, was a changed man. Ken's matter of factness allowed my husband to see what we needed to do to remediate our home. Ryan and Lamont were the workers/technicians who worked at our home for three days. CMM is so very fortunate to have these two employed with CCM. They were kind, considerate, professional, precise and just downright good people. I cannot sing their praises enough. I highly recommend Comprehensive Mold Management."

"They were very organized and thorough.  Mark  showed us a slide show of their process when he came to look at the job and provide an estimate.  The town has proven to be quite an obstacle in the whole process.  Mark and Bob were much more patient with the inspector than I would have been if I had been there.  The inspector bordered on harrassment as far as I am concerned.  Much too much trouble for a sump pump!!!  The drainage system went in in two days which was amazing, the crew started by 8am each day and worked until the goals were reached each day.  The walls have proven to be another story.  Once the water was pumped out, the ground was so saturated because we had  12" of snowmelt and 1-2" of rain on top of it, the walls were soaked and they were unable to paint the dryloc on the walls at the time they were ready to do so. Now we have to wait for the walls to dry in order to finish the painting.  That concerns me a little because whats going to happen to the walls once the dryloc is on? There will be no place for the water to go once the blocks are saturated.  I guess we'll see over the long haul."

"We needed a French drain to divert water around the base of a chimney. The gentleman who gave the assessment showed up on time and gave me an estimate on the spot. The office called me with an appointment and called again the day before the job was done. The men who showed up were early, reviewed the work order with me and were very professional. The job was done quickly. They did NO damage to the landscaping. You couldnâ  t tell they had been there when they were done. I would use them again."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.

Yes, it is normal to see some minor hairline cracks in brick or mortar over time, often due to natural foundation settling. However, not all cracks are harmless. You should be concerned and contact a masonry professional for an inspection if you notice cracks that are getting wider or longer, or if new ones keep appearing. Other serious warning signs that can indicate significant structural or foundation damage include large vertical cracks (especially those that widen as they go up), stair-step cracks, L-shaped cracks, and deep horizontal cracks. Factors like temperature changes, moisture, and structural loading can also cause cracks to form or worsen.

Yes, limewash on brick can accumulate dust over time. Its porous nature can attract dust particles, especially in environments with high levels of dust or dirt. Additionally, if the limewash surface is left unsealed, it may be more prone to collecting dust. Additionally, incorrectly applied limewash will generate dust. Causes include applying it too thickly instead of thin layers and not allowing enough drying time between layers. Regular maintenance, such as gentle cleaning or dusting, can help mitigate dusty issues.

Yes, you can do German schmear on stone. You can account for the more textured and rough surface of stone by using a large paintbrush instead of a putty knife. A brush allows you to drag mortar across the stone to get it into all the cracks and crevices. However, a brush will cover more of the surface, so you may need a wet sponge to scrub excess mortar and expose more of your stone.

They provide excellent heat retention and durability and add a classic aesthetic to a home.
