"If you want a contracting company that really delivers, look no further than TruNorth Enterprises, helmed by the remarkable Will. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Will and his team, who have consistently exceeded my expectations in every project they've undertaken. Last September, as we were getting ready to put our house on the market, Will tackled a laundry list of repairs and renovations for me, and the results were nothing short of exceptional. From framing to cabinetry, flooring, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry, Will's expertise shone through in every task. No job was too big or too small for him, and each one was completed with a close attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. And the work spoke for itself—the house was sold for way above our asking price, and we got great feedback about many of the projects that Will had tackled. What sets Will apart isn’t just his technical skill, but also his integrity and transparency. Throughout the process, he was upfront about the work needed, the timeline involved, and the associated costs. In fact, his pricing came in lower than quotes from three other contractors. I’d say that the best part of working with Will is the peace of mind he provides. Trust is paramount when inviting someone into your home to make significant repairs or alterations, and with Will, that trust comes effortlessly. His honesty, reliability, and professionalism make him a contractor that I can rely on without reservation. Now that we’re in our new home, and having experienced firsthand the quality of Will's craftsmanship, I’m already looking forward to future projects. From building built-in bookcases, to extending our deck, to replacing old windows, to addressing the many hidden problems that a person always discovers over time in a new house, I have no doubt that Will and TruNorth Enterprises will continue to deliver exceptional results. In an industry where finding a reliable contractor can be challenging, Will from TruNorth Enterprises stands out for his reliability, skill, and integrity. I'm grateful for the excellent work he's done for me and highly recommend his services to anyone looking for quality contracting."

", and resolve that issueOn the day of service, he sprayed and treated the black mold and concrete masonry wall, 3 times. I had freshly re-painted my laundry room floor that week. I noticed his mold removal chemicals, had bubbled my floor paint. He said it would go down and be fine. It wasn't when I water-proofed and painted the masonry wall myself, (which was what I planned to do all along) as I peeled the painter tape off the floor, it peeled the the floor paint off. I called Mark, he came back and it was then that I learned, that he used a penetrant on the mold removal chemical, thats why is bubbled the paint, and that he did not water-proof the masonry wall, he just sprayed for mold, of which I thought he agreed to waterproof it as well. I was not happy with that fact.as I was sure I had told him to waterproof it. He did wind up giving me $50 bucks back for the floor. I felt he was careless how he treated my floor, and I felt he was not doing what we had talked about. He is a nice guy and understands his field, but I feel for what he did, he was over paid. I had previously hooked him up with a bigger job across the street at my neighbors house, and all in all, he threw me a $100 discount along with the $50 discount for damaging my floor and my total cost was $500. I can live with that, but I was not a happy camper to totally re-paint my floor again, and scrape all the damaged areas, on my hands and knees. I would use him again, but I'd negotiate him way down for future work if I had to hire him, he's not a deal.He had also left a ventilation pump fan in my house, he I called him to remove it, and he informed he would come on a certain date and time, and he never came to get his stuff. I was not happy he never called me to tell me he wasn't coming, I had other things to do that day. I called him again, and also stated, I was not please with what the product did to my floor, he showed right up to address that and resolve that issue-which was a fair resolution I accepted.
As far as the mold remediation, I am thrilled of what the chemical did, and how fast it killed it, and sealed the mold at the same time, it was impressive. I feel much better that knowing I don't have dangerous mold that can hurt me or my family in anyway. that component of the projection was done with my complete satisfaction.

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Yes, brick walls often add value to a home. For starters, many people love the look of brick walls, so they can enhance your home's aesthetic appeal and add warmth to your property, especially when it aligns with the rest of your neighborhood's look. They also provide privacy and security, which can further increase the resale value of your home.

You can purchase from many brick manufacturers and distributors via their websites, where you can also get estimates based on the quantity you need. You’ll find bricks at your local home improvement stores as well, though they won’t have as much of a variety to choose from. As for antique bricks, secondary selling websites like eBay can be a great resource.

When painting brick, each application method has distinct advantages and disadvantages. Spraying is significantly faster but may not penetrate deeply beyond the surface layer. Rolling is effective for working paint into the brick's texture but can be less effective on mortar joints. If you opt for a roller, choose a thick nap of at least a half-inch to ensure paint gets into all the crevices for even coverage. Using a brush is generally not recommended as it is very time-consuming and provides poor surface penetration. Ultimately, a combination of spraying followed by back-rolling is often the best strategy for a durable and even finish.

The material you use depends on how hard-wearing your steps need to be and what you want them to look like. The most common stone for exterior steps is bluestone. It’s hard-wearing and durable, and bluestone steps cost between $15 and $30 per linear foot. Limestone is also a popular option and is mid-range, costing $25 to $50 per linear foot. You should always consider the specific requirements of your project before ordering any materials.

Cobblestone fell out of favor with the advent of motor vehicles. Asphalt and concrete are both much smoother surfaces allowing for a smoother ride. Asphalt is also much cheaper, especially for driveways. However, we didn’t stop using cobblestone altogether, and you can still see it as a decorative option in both homes, in parks, and in pedestrianized areas of cities.
