"Anton was easy to work with. Sent email on a Sunday. He called in five minutes and came that afternoon to look at the job. Replaced baseboard in four bedrooms and repaired a hole in the ceiling. All work was completed in two days starting that Monday. The carpenter that did the baseboards (I think his name is John) was great, neat and did a wonderful job. I will definately call Anton again. "I hired Sam from great group decking to build my deck and it was the best decision and investment on my deck. My deck increased the value of my house drastically ? highly recommended. These guys work so hard and they don?t get tired. They cleaned out and left the place better than it was . I am extremely satisfied."

Small jobs welcome

"Wanted to remove metal spiral staircase for a wooden built-in custom look. I had a picture in my head on what I wanted and the look. Doug made that come to life. A Solid and rustic look is what I wanted and that's what I got, so much better than the metal staircase. Without a doubt a pure craftsmanship. If your in the market for a staircase, look no further, Doug at Prosperity Stairs & Rails, Inc is the man for the job. Steve L."

"So happy to have found this team. Not only are they incredibly professional, they are really nice people, a joy to work with and they did such a great job. Communication back and forth was easy and they showed up exactly when they said the would and did exactly what they said they would do. We needed a small deck built for a shed and the shed constructed. They were able to get it done within a week of contacting them and it looks great! Will definitely be hiring them again for more projects."

"I hired John (Carpenter) to do some small tasks on my Mom’s House. His work was great. I asked if he could take on more work for us. He removed the old tile, linoleum and cabinets, and installed new. My Mother and I are very pleased. I would definitely recommend John."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Installing a tongue-and-groove wall requires similar techniques to those associated with installing shiplap. However, because of the precision necessary to make each board fit perfectly and the increased material prices, the cost is higher than that of shiplap installations. Expect to spend between $2 and $6 more per square foot for tongue-and-groove walls versus shiplap ones.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.

Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.

Begin by analyzing the blueprints and gathering the proper materials before framing a house. With the prep stages behind you, begin by framing the floor of a house on the newly set foundation. Exterior and interior walls come next, along with rough openings for doors and windows. Contractors will then add ceiling and roof rafters to finish things off.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.
