"My driveway suffered some damage from the flooding, mainly cracking and undulations. I found Limitless on Angi. I booked an appointment easily and Christhian came when he said he would and was extremely polite. I thought I needed a new driveway and he explained that I would very easily be satisfied with only a resurfacing, which cost quite a bit less (though he was willing to do either). His quote was instant and fair (I checked online afterward to see what the range of cost was). His team came when they said they would; they were again very polite and EXTREMELY efficient. They were in and out in less than 3 hours. I have some sidewalk masonry planned and I will absolutely look to these guys first to do it."

Small jobs welcome

"We selected Luis & Sons from the Homeadvisor listing for a major job that involved paving a couple of thousand square feet of our driveway with asphalt and laying down stone walkways on the two sides of our house. We also added stone edges with Belgian blocks to separate the planting areas from the paved areas. We got an estimate from Luis before the work and we modified the price only for things we did not foresee. Luis insisted on the removal of the existing asphalt and proper preparation of the paving areas with Item 4 for long term durability, instead of just putting the new asphalt on the old. We agreed, even though it cost a little more. The Belgian stone edges had to be done before the paving. The stone edges and the paving took 5 days for the workers. The stone walkways required the removal of the existing red bricks and be replaced with grey concrete bricks of three different shapes to fit a pattern. That took an additional couple of days. Luis also fixed our foundation where the concrete was pealing off. Luis knows his stuff and has an aethetic sense of what will look good for the specific purpose. He brought all the materials and took back the unwanted excavation. He listened to our concerns and addressed them as we went along. Luis is conscientious and takes pride in his work. Our yard looks very nice with these improvements. Since the company also does landscaping, we may hire them to help us with the omnipresent weed problem in our yard. Overall, this was a very good experience."

Small jobs welcome

"Alex and his crew were fantastic. They were on time, worked very hard and each day they left the site completely cleaned up, including the driveway where they mixed the concrete. They were complete professionals! I had a few small additional things I wanted him to do and he did them without any new charges. Prior to having Alex install the drains and do the other repairs we would always have water coming into our basement, sometimes substantial amounts of water. It has now been about a month since he did the job and we have had two big rain storms and our basement is completely dry thanks to Alex's great work. Alex is very easy to work with and has an old school work ethic, and there were no surprises or over charges. He's a straight shooter. I will be having Alex do more work for us next spring. John"

"Like me, you spend a lot of time looking at hundreds of reviews for a dependable company. It's always important to do your due diligence looking for the best concrete and excavation contractor by requesting and comparing quotes from multiple contractors. Trust me when I tell you, your search is over! Hands down, High Tech Concrete & Excavation, is by far the best professional contractor I've ever hired. Jimmy did a fantastic job demolishing and installing a new stoop. The work done was top-notch, and his workmanship is remarkable. The price was HALF of what others wanted to charge me. To boot, he put leftover cement down to create a slab for my dogs to walk on while running out of our front yard, which typically is muddy by the rain and snow. I will use Jimmy again for my next masonry project. Not only that, we've already booked him for driveway sealing, including and filling in the cracks. Hiring Jimmy is a no-brainer."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, recycled asphalt driveway costs can be substantially lower than new asphalt. With new asphalt costing between $90 and $190 per ton, this option can cost as much as 10 times more than laying down asphalt millings.

Asphalt dries and cures best between 50 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This range allows moisture to evaporate quickly without causing the asphalt to cool too fast, which can negatively affect the drying process. However, keep in mind that other weather conditions can also affect curing and drying times, such as precipitation and humidity.

To maintain their strength, asphalt driveways and parking lots need to be sealcoated once every two to five years. You may also need to reapply paint striping every few years as it fades to ensure drivers can safely navigate the parking lot.

Gravel is the most economical and least expensive driveway material, costing between $1 and $3 per square foot. This is significantly cheaper than alternatives like asphalt or concrete. However, it's important to consider long-term costs, as gravel driveways require regular maintenance. You will likely need to add new gravel filling once or twice a year and regularly rake it to keep it level, which can add to the overall cost over time.

In the United States, roads are usually categorized as one of three types: public roads, other drivable roads, and non-drivable roads. These categories dictate how a road can be used; a non-drivable road might be classified that way because it is heavily damaged and unsafe for cars.
