"My driveway suffered some damage from the flooding, mainly cracking and undulations. I found Limitless on Angi. I booked an appointment easily and Christhian came when he said he would and was extremely polite. I thought I needed a new driveway and he explained that I would very easily be satisfied with only a resurfacing, which cost quite a bit less (though he was willing to do either). His quote was instant and fair (I checked online afterward to see what the range of cost was). His team came when they said they would; they were again very polite and EXTREMELY efficient. They were in and out in less than 3 hours. I have some sidewalk masonry planned and I will absolutely look to these guys first to do it."

"A beautiful job for a reasonable and fair price. For every part of the job, the crew came early in the morning and on time. The boss, Luis, always reported to the job site each day and inspected the work. Every part of these jobs was completed the way we had discussed, and, in fact, extra work was often done without any extra charge. For example, when the men dug out the soil around the cellar stair walls, Luis felt they had to go all the way down to the bottom--about six feet, instead of the 3 or 4 feet he had estimated, due to the poor condition of the walls--no extra charge. He did the same when he didn't like how the blacktop looked doing just the driveway in front of the garage and proceeded to redo the driveway perpendicular to it next to my fence--again, no extra charge. The same care for doing the job the right way was seen with the garage floor--instead of just repairing a length long crack on one side, Luis felt the entire section to the wall had to be removed and redone--again no extra charge. When I felt a detail wasn't carried out the right way, Luis listened and took care of it without any problem. The quality of their work is outstanding: for example, the seam of the garage cement floor met the new blacktop at the garage door perfectly. That's why I was happy to hire him again for the second job and why I recommended him to my next door neighbor. Luis and his crew work very hard for his customers and they know their business--I highly recommend L &Z! Yours truly, Vincent Longhi"

Customers say: Quality work

"Provided recommendations and installed concrete pavers and Belgian block curbing at front walkway of my home. Arrived on time for initial appointment and arrived promptly to begin work on the day promised. Good quality work was completed in a timely manner. I would use Escalera landscaping again and would recommend this landscaper."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Your city or county will have guidelines about the minimum and maximum width and length of private roads. The average private road is 12 feet wide, and length, of course, depends on your property. Requirements also depend on the amount of traffic and types of vehicles your road experiences. Check with local ordinances before planning a road on your property.

When comparing installation costs, asphalt is often less expensive upfront than concrete. Asphalt prices typically range from $7 to $15 per square foot, while concrete can range from $3 to $18 per square foot. However, long-term costs should also be considered. Concrete driveways generally last longer (up to twice as long) and require less maintenance, which can make them more affordable over their lifespan. While asphalt has a lower installation cost and is easier to repair, it requires more frequent maintenance, such as sealing, which can add up over time. Therefore, while concrete is more expensive initially, its durability may offset the cost in the long run.

Instead of a set number of types, asphalt comes in variations designed for different needs. Some are categorized by temperature—hot mix, warm mix, and cold mix. Others are sorted by composition, like dense-graded, gap-graded (such as Stone Matrix Asphalt), porous, and mastic asphalt. There are also modified versions with added compounds like polymers, rubber, or emulsions. Instead of focusing on a number, it may be more useful to understand how contractors customize asphalt for durability, climate, and traffic conditions.

Driveway aprons typically range between four and seven inches thick, though your town's building codes will likely have specific requirements. Additionally, you may need to add a layer of permeable aggregate in the excavation below your paved apron to ensure proper stormwater drainage.

Overall, a paver driveway is considered the easiest to maintain because homeowners are able to do driveway repair one piece at a time without impacting the rest of the driveway. Unlike paved options, paver driveways contain individual stones that aren't physically connected. By comparison, you may need to reseal or redo a full asphalt driveway if just one portion sustains a significant crack.
