"Brian and his crew were gracious enough to work around our timeline. We were hosting a graduation party for our twins and wanted the house freshened up. They were able to paint all of the trim, shutters and doors quickly. The house looked brand new when they got done! I will use this company again for sure!!"

"Excellent company ... Project was staining a log home & painting a metal sided barn/garage. A very detailed quote showed Michael had listened to me during conversations on phone and visit to our property. Angi has so far been a good source for reliable contractors. Clean Cut Painting employees are very efficient and personable. They showed up each day ready to work and work they did. Ryan kept me informed during the prep process as my log home needed a lot of TLC. Weather cooperated (most of the time) and the project was completed in less than two weeks. Ryan went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the quality of his and his crew's work. Attention to detail was excellent. I would hire this company for any painting projects I may have in the future. I've also recommended this company to friends and neighbors. Thank you Clean Cut Painting for a job well done."

"Lleshi Painting has truly raised the property value of my home by his attention to detail, focus and commitment to doing the job right. He literally changed my home from night to day. I had some hideous yellow walls with very ROUGH texture throughout the home. He went above and beyond to the point that the home looks brand new and not from the 70s. He listened to my concerns and requests for a Contemporary/Modern look and delivered as promised beyond my expectations! Dede is an honest man who gave me a fair price, was easy to work with, and finished the job on time. Thank you!"

Customers say: Quick response

"We recently hired Joe and Color Concepts to paint the exterior of our home and we couldn't be more pleased with the service and final look of our home. Joe is fantastic, presented us with several options and professional opinions along the way, completed the work under the proposed timeline and we absolutely love how our home was transformed! Extremely pleased and highly recommend Joe to anyone considering a home painting project, large or small. We are so pleased with Joe's work we are using him for interior painting again in the Spring. Highly highly recommend. - Matt Manda & Elise Stefanik"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You can paint over old paint on a concrete porch. For the best results, you should first clean the surface and remove as much paint as you can. A power washer is helpful here, but you’ll also want to scrape as much of the old paint away as possible. Then you should prime the porch before repainting it.

Limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces if you apply them correctly. Use on non-suitable surfaces can cause issues. For instance, applying limewash or whitewash to surfaces with existing sealants or incompatible materials may lead to poor adhesion or flaking. Also, harsh cleaning agents on limewashed or whitewashed surfaces can damage the finish. Proper preparation, application, and maintenance ensure that limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces.

Unless you’re using a 2-in-1 formula or painting over an existing coat of paint, it pays to apply a coat of primer ahead of your new paint. Decks see a lot of footfall and exposure to extreme and sudden temperature changes and moisture levels. The primer promotes better paint adhesion, moisture repellency, and a smoother finish, which means you’ll often need fewer coats of paint.

Whether you can paint over your existing paint depends on what’s on there. Most of the time, you’ll want to sand down or scrape off the paint that’s currently coating your surface. Epoxy paint, for example, won’t let new paint stick to the surface. Latex paint is more forgiving and will accept a new coat, but a primer is recommended if you’re switching colors.

Deciding whether to stain or paint a pool deck depends on your budget, desired look, and the deck's material. Both options can work. Paint offers a wider variety of color options, provides excellent water resistance, and can last longer. However, it requires a primer and can eventually fade or peel. Stain is often cheaper, easier to apply, and penetrates the wood for a more natural look and longer-lasting finish. It also has great water resistance. The downsides are fewer color options and the need for a sealant. The choice can also depend on the deck material; for example, staining may be a better option for concrete as it bonds well and lasts longer than paint.
