"It went smoothly, although there's a slight hitch in the information transfer between Angie's List and Flue Tech. I purchased the deal through Angie's list and then called to schedule. They came on time as promised and did the work promptly. This is in comparison to East Coast Fireplace who told me in the appointment confirmation call that they would charge $100 just to look at the chimney and chimney cap installation would be separate charges on top of that."

"They were on time and were very professional, friends, took off their shoes and cleaned up after themselves. They were wonderful, I can't say enough. They assembled a desk and hung my kitchen shelves."

"I recently used Chimney Needs USA to install a chimney flue and liner, reinstall a cap which had blown off, repoint a part of the chimney, and apply water proofing. This is a young company but was very professional and did a superlative job. I highly recommend them for any chimney repair job."

"The day, Victor came out to see the job, all my cabinets were still all in boxes. I was impressed that Victor began inspecting the boxes to make sure that everything that  I  had ordered was there. ( He did this, before I hired him!) Victor and his 2 helpers arrived about 8 !5 am, they were courteous, professional and worked very quietly. Victor and his crew, had to come back a second day because the countertops had to have a template made before they could be delivered. The second day,was like the first, the men arrived very early and completed the job, hours before expected. Victor, told me about a coupon, that he had on Angie's list for first time customers that entitled me to a $100 discount. They, even assembled a piece of furniture for me at no extra cost. They did a good job of cleaning up everyday. I would definitely, hire VAP, again."

"Expert general contractor, capable of handling a major renovation. Impeccable attention to detail, ensuring the work product/outcome is up to very high standards. Danny and his team helped with the design/layout/implementation of, among other things, a full kitchen renovation, 3 story staircase replacement, flooring, entire home painting, and a bathroom/closet renovation. He was always responsive and available throughout the project. Highest of recommendations!"

Grill Assembly questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can lay a gas grill flat during transportation. Laying it flat can help prevent it from moving around the truck during the journey. It’s still advisable to secure the grill with bungee cords, just in case.

Safety precautions include proper ventilation, regular inspections for leaks, and ensuring tanks and fittings are in good condition to prevent accidental release or fire hazards.

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.

Built-in gas grills typically have a life span of 10 to 15 years. However, their longevity can vary based on quality, usage frequency, climate conditions, and maintenance routines. High-quality models made from durable materials tend to last longer. Additionally, regular cleaning, covering the grill when not in use, and conducting routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning burners and replacing worn-out parts can extend its life. A well-maintained built-in gas grill can provide excellent performance and memorable cooking experiences for a decade or more, making it a worthwhile investment for outdoor cooking enthusiasts.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.
