"We started out last year with a plumbing and heating problem in a poorly constructed bathroom where there wasn't enough heat to keep the pipes from freezing and breaking. We thought we wanted radiant heat for the corrective construction, but after Adam came and looked at the house and the repair job, he really didn't think it was the correct solution. He actually helped us find a contractor who was willing to work with us on the more extensive repairs we needed for the house repair, and Adam helped find a workable and cost-effective heating solution for the house. Adam was very patient and helped us determine the best heating solution for our century-old home. We discussed all the options and then determined to replace the old furnace. Then we also had to add some heat runs to a remodeled area of the house, and he did that work too! His price on the furnace install came in much lower than other quotes we had received the previous two years, and we were able to add central air to the house as well. After the construction was underway on the remodel, he came and helped us balance the air flow in the house so that all the rooms on both floors could be more comfortable and evenly heated. We are very satisfied with the work completed. He is quick to return a message or phone call. He shows up when he says he is going to and does excellent work. Adam is easy to talk to, and we never had any doubt that he was committed to giving us quality products and services. We definitely recommend him to others."

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

Install Central Vacuum questions, answered by experts

A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.

The cost to install a central vacuum cleaner system averages about $1,600, ranging from $1,100 to $2,200, depending on the size of the system, add-on features, your home’s location, and age of the system. Accessibility to running lines and other equipment can also impact the project cost. Consult a central vacuum cleaner installation company for an accurate estimate of your installation cost.

Experienced professionals don’t usually need to take down drywall to install the central vacuum. They are experienced in working in the tight spaces between walls and in crawl spaces to minimize any damage. The only drywall changes should be the holes cut for the new outlets. However, home design, existing plumbing, and other factors may require some modification. An estimate from a professional contractor should include information if any changes need to be made.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

For the average-size house, a central vacuum installation usually takes one day of work by a team of professionals. Large houses may take two or more days. But if you are planning on a DIY project, it’s likely to take much longer. We suggest getting a few estimates for a project this big and fully understanding all the requirements before you make a decision about installation. Certain parts of your house may not be usable during the installation, and you may want to make other plans.
