Small jobs welcome

"Devin is a very pleasant and polite guy who does quality work. He helped us salvage a poorly built front porch (another contractors work) and after he put his finishing touches on it for us, it is now looking much better. He took it to the next level with some custom built pieces and even added some built-in lighting. Would highly recommend him for any project. If he doesnâ  t know how to do something himself he will admit it and do what he can to get in touch with someone who can help you."

"I had a tricky situation in my basement, which involves dry wall, electricity and water. I didn't even know what type of contractors I need to get due to the complexity, so I decided to try handyman service, because I need some people who are truly versatile. Corey and William responded to my request within minutes, came to my house for estimation within an hour, and gave me the estimate within hours. They came up with a solution that is both practical and aesthetic, with very reasonable price. They came to do the job a few days later at a day and time of my choice, and completed the job in a very neat and efficient way. Their versatility solved a big problem for me in such a short time. I'm very happy with their work and will definitely hire them again in the future for any handyman service. I highly recommend them."

Handyman Services questions, answered by experts

You can tackle hanging Christmas lights yourself with the right tools, accessories, and a trusted friend or neighbor. You’ll need to purchase a ladder ($100 to $300), clips ($10 to $20), hooks ($10 to $15), and lights ($25 to $100 per string).

Otherwise, you should hire a trusted holiday light installer near you. You’ll pay an average price of $200 to $650, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and safely.

Handypeople usually don’t hold trade licenses, so they typically aren’t qualified to tackle projects involving installing or making alterations to plumbing or electrical lines. Below are some jobs that a handyperson usually won’t be able to complete:

  • Installing plumbing for a new kitchen or bathroom

  • Replacing plumbing pipes

  • Installing or repairing septic systems

  • Running new electrical wiring

  • Installing a subpanel

Absolutely, they tailor their approach to address individual requirements, ensuring satisfaction on every visit.

Hiring a handyperson offers several benefits. They can save you time and hassle by completing tasks you may not have the time or experience to do yourself. A key advantage is ensuring the project is done correctly, which can prevent future issues and save money in the long run. For projects that pose safety risks, hiring an experienced professional is a much safer option. Additionally, handypeople are often more available for smaller jobs that larger contractors may not have the schedule for.

While handypeople do not need to be licensed in many places, you should only hire insured pros for any home improvement work. Your handyperson should have active liability coverage that protects them and you in the case of an error or accident. Furthermore, if they have employees on your property, they should also have workers’ compensation insurance. If you hire an individual or a company that is not insured and they damage your property, have an accident while on the job, or become injured on your property without insurance, you can be held financially liable.
