"I couldn't have expected a better service, and that's after using several engineers in the tri-state for past work. This engineer also goes above and beyond. He is meticulous, honest and very responsive. He was truly a pleasure to deal with. I will absolutely be using him again, and I wholeheartedly recommend him.

"We had 2-3 years of constant road work as a result of storm Sandy (gas line and water line replacement) and there was a crack that expanded over time in the living area on the second floor. We needed to know if it was structural or cosmetic. Anthony arrived on time and began to examine the crack as well as take measurements to determine any significant changes. He was familiar with the land issues in this area, which I appreciated. He explained as he went along and also went to every room in the home and outside for any other evidence of cracks. He was extremely thorough in his inspection and advised how to correct the issue. In addition he also gave tips regarding procedures for any renovations on the property which was extremely helpful. There was a fee for the inspection and an additional fee for a written report. I would definitely hire again if I have any issues."

"We had an amazing experience working with Denny on our home project in Huntington, NY. From the very first consultation, their team listened closely to our ideas and translated them into a beautiful, functional design that exceeded our expectations. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, blending modern style with practical solutions that perfectly fit our family’s needs. The process was smooth from start to finish—professional, responsive, and always clear with communication. What stood out most was their creativity and ability to bring our vision to life while keeping everything on budget and on schedule. The end result is a stunning home that we’re proud to show off and enjoy every day. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top-tier residential architecture firm. They truly deliver quality, passion, and craftsmanship."

Architects questions, answered by experts

A floor plan is a less detailed illustration showing a building or room's layout from above, including elements like windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. It offers a simplified view for homeowners. In contrast, a blueprint is a more detailed, to-scale architectural drawing that includes all parts of the building plans, such as structural elements, construction details, and utility schematics. While a floor plan can be a type of view within a blueprint, the complete blueprint contains all the necessary details to turn the plan into a reality.

The country's most famous Neoclassical architecture appears in major government buildings and college campuses. The White House is unmistakably the most famous example, though the Capitol Building and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello are also iconic uses of the design.

Palm Springs homes and similar mid-century modern architecture took off in Northern California, Seattle, and the Midwest. You'll also find many homes that emulate the style in northeastern states, such as throughout Pennsylvania and New York State. That being said, you'll have the best luck finding this style in its original home: Palm Springs and the surrounding area.

You'll find Arts and Crafts homes across the country in varying styles. On the East Coast, bungalows and Tudor Revivals fill the Boston area through New Jersey. In the West, Mission-style homes incorporate terracotta shingles, white stucco siding, and rounded archways.

Whether you’re building a new home or building an extension on your existing property, you will likely need both a structural engineer and an architect. A structural engineer will determine what loads your foundation and framing can safely handle, and an architect will draw plans according to those structural calculations to simplify the building process. You can start by contacting a structural engineer near you, as many work alongside architects and can get all of the prep work done at once.
