"This is the worst experience I have had with a landscaping company. Silvio quoted a job at ?$45 per hour, for a couple of hours?, which he admits to saying word for word and agreed to on text. We even said ?so around $90?, which he agreed with. After the job he then charged us for 9 hours, and a $177 dumping fee on top of that. My entire family was at the house, and he was there for 2-3hours. He does not deny this. He then says we have to pay for 9 hours because he decided to bring as many extra men as he chose. He is trying to charge $632 for a job he agreed to do for around $90, this is all confirmed on text. He was physically at the house and walked the property before giving us these quotes face to face as well. So there was no surprise in the job he was doing. Avoid this company at all cost. They must be used to getting away with overcharging people. This man, Silvio, is not trustworthy. "

"They were pleasant and did a quick and great job. I would highly recommend them. I just moved to this home and there was 4 years of leaves on the acre property. They are gone now!!"

"The pro has been servicing our Mclean property quite well for a couple of years. Our lawn looks good and we are satisfied with the service. The customer service is sometimes underwhelming but it gets the job done at a reasonable cost which is really becoming harder by the day to get."

Tree Spraying, Mosquito and Tick control, Organics, Poison Ivy removal, Insect and disease identification, root feeding. Environmental Design Group Inc employs Degreed Horticulturists, ISA Certified arborists and New York State certified pesticide applicators.

"He is pleasant, prompt, courteous and charges a fair price. I definitely recommend him and his company. The hornets' nest removal cost about $125.00; the tree-&-shrub treatment is about $25.00 per month."

John Whigham, Inc. is a family owned and operated company. We will come to your home and give you a FREE ESTIMATE and offer advice on your home improvement project .

"John Whigham company came when they said they would and cleaned up very well. The work, roofing for my home and garage, replacing the shingles on the front of the house plus some minor pointing work on the front porch and walkway, was done quickly. Though one of the shingles fell off about a month later (the shingles on the front dormer) they came quickly and reinstalled it properly. So, why the poor review? 5 years after the job was done I had a leak in my kitchen. I've had 5 professional roof installers come and all of them stated that the work done around the rear dormer was improper. They all independently stated that the flashing was done improperly, that is, the step flashing was never changed and there was no ice flashing installed and this resulted in a leak. Worse, the labor guarantee was for ONLY ONE YEAR which is the abysmal when compared to the industry standard of 5 to 10 years. He refused to fix the problem and so now the entire rear roof has to be removed and redone. Additionally, though I should have done more homework at the time to compare prices, he overcharged based on my subsequent researching, by almost $7,000 and this was confirmed by other roofers who were subsequently asked for an estimate. He is always trying to upsell, a minor criticism, but it can be very annoying as I get the feeling that he's more interested in making a buck than doing the work. Based on his warranty alone I never should have contracted with John Whigham and I don't think anyone should."

Rototilling questions, answered by experts

DIY landscaping is possible, but professional services offer expertise in selecting appropriate plants and designing functional spaces that complement the natural environment and adhere to local regulations.

Yes, you can rent a rototiller for around $60 per day and do the work yourself, but it’s not recommended. Tilling is more of an art than a science, as tilling too deep can be detrimental to your soil structure and the organic matter that is beneficial to plants and shrubs, and tilling too shallow won’t properly introduce fertilizer or break up the soil for rooting plants. Additionally, tillers are powerful machines with sharp blades to cut through small roots and soil, so they are inherently dangerous to use. It’s usually worth it to hire a professional rototiller.

Professionals who complete perc tests can usually do them in a single day. Including excavating to expose the test site, filling the hole with water, and monitoring it while it drains, you can expect the test to take between four and eight hours total. It’s possible that you’ll get the results the same day, but some companies may take a few days to get official results.

Mobile homes need releveling every so often to maintain their structural integrity. Most mobile home manufacturers recommend releveling every three to five years. To keep the quality of your mobile home up for years and to avoid deterioration over time, proper maintenance is key.

Periodic checks for erosion and proper drainage function ensure lasting results.
