"Eliton and team far exceeded my expectations. Due to a delay in closing on our home, we only had a small window of time (10 days) before moving in. Eliton made every accommodation to have over 3,000 square feet of flooring finished in time for our move-in date, even proactively coordinating with my other contractors. EDS's service, professionalism and finished product are of the highest caliber. Pricing also happened to be the most competitive out of 4 total quotes I received.. I highly recommend them."

"Horacio, and his team did a beautiful job with my new installation of hardwood floors in the kitchen and blending with my existing hardwood floors in dining room. The refinishing and staining in the living room and bedrooms was flawless. He was very professional and communicated with me every step of the way. Thanks VRP flooring."

Customers say: Quick response

"I gave Floor Plan Inc. a not so good review from a misunderstanding. Jorge has contacted me numerous times to mend the wrong. Unfortunately I no longer live in NY state and am not in need of his services. I write this review again because anyone can make a bad decision, it's how we handle the decision afterwards. I truly believe Jorge was overwhelmed with work and that is the reason for his cancellations. I would recommend this pro because he believes in delivering exceptional customer service and has proven that with my situation."

Small jobs welcome

"Rich and his team were incredibly responsive and helpful with our basement vinyl flooring. There was quite a bit of work to be done... scraping the floor, leveling, and working around internal drain & sump pump work. By the end of the project we were amazed with how clean and good everything looks. We will definitely call him again for any flooring needs!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Contractors commonly install floors before cabinets during a kitchen remodel. It’s the standard option when installing hardwood, vinyl, and tile flooring. Installing flooring first helps prevent height misalignment, ensures a seamless appearance, and saves extra flooring work and costs if you plan to replace or remove any cabinets later.

Carpeting with a low pile is both slip-resistant and soft, making it one of the safest types of flooring in the case of slips and falls. In order to be fully ADA-compliant, carpet shouldn’t exceed the thickness of half an inch, and you should secure the edges to the floor to prevent trip hazards.

Other ADA-compliant flooring options include hardwood, laminate, or ceramic tile with a gritty, anti-slip surface. Ceramic or porcelain tile are actually some of the best types of flooring for wheelchair users.

The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.

Yes. When installed properly, the strong adhesive on carpet tiles keeps them in place while also allowing homeowners the flexibility to peel up an individual tile and replace it if they need to. It’s important to keep in mind that the adhesive on your carpet tiles may take some time to cure, so it’s best to leave them alone for a couple of days after you first install them.

Raising a sunken living room requires help from a professional contractor. The expert will remove existing flooring and trim, reroute utility lines with respect to the new floor level, pour concrete to fill the recessed space, and then let the concrete cure. After the foundation is raised up, the contractor will install the new utility lines, repaint the walls, if necessary, and finish the area with flooring and trim.
