"NYC Plumbing, Heating and Drain provided great service in an emergency and on a Sunday. I was impressed and relieved especially after having contacted several plumbing companies who scheduled me two to three days later. Lazer was courteous and friendly and explained the problem and solution. Thank you!"

"Top-notch plumbing work from Ervin, who works for and with Dominik and Entoni Corri. Entoni is an excellent communicator, via text and phone. He listens and asks key questions, then provides just the right skilled people for the job. Ervin arrived promptly, and patiently tracked down the source of the leak. He was joined by Dominik, Entoniâ s dad, and together they solved the problem, installed two toilets with patience and care, and offered sound advice for preventing and solving problems in the future. "I have to tell you that this contractor was extremely professional. I have hire may of contractors in the past and this gentleman and his crew exceeded ALL expectations. My basement had been flooding for years and we finally decided to hire someone. Let me tell you, they came in here and in ONE DAY they completed the job. He came to my house with a CREW, not with just a helper, a CREW and they bang this job out. Price was reasonable too. Before they left, they cleaned every single area that they may have gone through left my basement and the outside where they were dumping all the debris CLEAN.... They even washed it down my driveway and left everything immaculate. I’m telling you from experience there are very few contractors that will leave the job site clean. I told him I would wait to write a review because I wanted to be sure that is life time guarantee that my basement would never flood again actually worked. WELL so far so good, we have had multiple rain storms and my basement is bone dry. Even the slightest of rain would come pouring through down into my basement. And now NOTHING!! We now can actually start using our basement again as our family room. Thank you so much Waterproofing Corp. and Crew, you guys are amazing and I’m truly glad we chose you. God bless."

"I posted an initial review on 2/21/19 on a job done on 1/11/19 to fix groundwater from coming into our basement. The drainage system and sump they installed was not collecting all the water that was coming in, as we had leaking from several areas along an uneven rock ledge. I had reached out to our salesperson by phone and email and never heard back, so I was very frustrated. About 3 weeks after I posted the review, I did get a call from Jeff Allen, one of the supervisors. To make a long story short, he sent out one of their waterproofing specialists to look at the problem. We had already hired an independent mason to try to remedy the problem but he had not yet had a chance to do the job. Jeff convinced me that CT Basement systems would do absolutely whatever it took to fix my water problem. I cancelled the independent mason. Danny, a mason from CT Basement Systems came out and used a very ingenious method to divert all the water to the originally installed water guard trough and then to the sump. It is working beautifully!! I think Danny is a genius and I am so impressed and thankful for Jeff's perseverance and kindness in making this happen. I am now a very happy customer."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

You can determine what size storm door you need by measuring for the storm door. Take the width at the top, middle, and bottom of either your front door or an existing storm door, then measure the height on the left, center, and right of the door. Buy a storm door that matches your measurements' smallest width and shortest height.

The time to install a storm door varies based on who is doing the work and the complexity of the job. Professional installation typically takes a few hours, often between 1 to 2 hours, ensuring a perfect fit. For a DIY project with a standard, pre-hung storm door, you can expect it to take about 3 to 5 hours. However, if the door opening needs to be expanded or significant frame adjustments are required, the installation could take more than a day, in which case hiring a professional is recommended.

Storm doors aren’t necessarily outdated. In fact, there are many benefits to installing a storm door, including improving your home’s energy efficiency, keeping pests out of your house, and protecting your home against the elements. However, storm doors aren’t great if you live in an area with high humidity because the door can trap heat and potentially damage your front door.

There are a few ways to make your storm door less drafty. For example, if the bottom of your storm door is letting in air, you can lower the door sweep so there’s a smaller gap between your door and the floor. You can also install weatherstripping or apply caulk around the door frame.

If you know the damage a hurricane can cause, you know how essential it is to protect your home. Getting ready for hurricane season can go beyond roofing reinforcement and extend to other external entry points where water and wind could damage your home. You may want to install hurricane window film to protect windows and glass doors or invest in storm windows. Storm windows cost an average of $12,000 and offer impact-resistant window surfaces with a better chance of fending off high winds.
