"We moved a wooden dining room table, padded dining room chairs, two leaves, the glass cover to the table and a large, ornate floor lamp between two homes in New York City and Westchester (about 50 mile apart). Jimmy and Nicolas were superb: careful, professional, thoughtful, engaging, and focused. I cannot imagine a better moving service than we had in this one. Superb is the word!"

"This project went very well, and we are thrilled with the results. We used VAP Contracting in the past for a smaller project, and didn't hesitate to use them again for this larger project. Victor is very professional: he is easy to reach and he always either picks up the phone or responds to messages or emails within a day. He works with a great crew of craftsmen who are punctual, honest, reliable, and who take pride in their work. This project required lots of digging, stone cutting, cement mixing, etc., but every day the work area was left as clean as possible. Victor also used a subcontractor for the stonework. This firm was also very reliable and professional - their skilled craftsmen were on-site every day during the 6-week duration of the project, carefully laying each stone in place to create beautiful staircases and patios. Victor coordinated all of the work, and both he and the subcontractor stopped by the house often to supervise the work, provide updates, and to answer any questions we had.
It's always a pleasure working with Victor and VAP contracting and look forward to working with him on future projects.

"Within 3 days of contacting Diego about my project, the job was done, to my complete satisfaction. Westchester Pro Contractingâ s 2 carpenters framed a basement doorway and installed a painted panel door to replace an obsolete bifold door. The finished job was proof that the two gentleman are masters of their craft. Diego was totally responsive and informative throughout the entire process I would hire his firm again for any home remodeling project."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Size is the main difference between a pool and a spool. Spools are typically about half the size of an average pool, so they’re ideal for yards without the space for a full-sized pool. Spools are also easier to heat, so they tend to be a higher temperature than pools and can be adjusted to get as hot as a spa when it’s time for a relaxing soak. Spools also contain jets and blowers, while most pools do not.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.

A few factors influence the time it takes for a pool to heat up, including the size of your pool, the temperature outside, and how much direct sunlight is hitting the water in the pool. With these factors in mind, it takes 12 to 72 hours to raise the temperature in a pool by 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

While you can run a pool heater all day, it is advised only to run it during the day, as it is more energy efficient. At night, it is better to purchase a solar pool cover to retain the heat within the pool.

Pool concrete or gunite can take several weeks to cure, or an average of 30 days, before workers can resume construction. Additional work and finishes push the time to build a pool out of concrete to between three and six months. There are many types of pools that take far less time, so keep these in mind if you're on a short timeline.

You can install an aboveground pool on various surfaces, including dirt, sand, concrete, and grass. You can’t install a pool on an uneven surface, though, so be sure to level the ground before building your pool. You also can’t install your pool on top of a rocky surface. Three or 4 inches of smooth sand or soil is the ideal surface to go under an aboveground pool.
