"I wouldn’t get my tree service done by anyone else! Timberline was extremely responsive, helpful and efficient. I spoke with Chris on the phone about having someone come look at my trees and Benjamin was at my home later that day. Benjamin was honest about what trees needed to come down and the price he gave was competitive and very reasonable. I am very happy with the work the Timberline crew did for me and I will definitely be calling again if I have any need for their services in the future!"

"They promptly responded to my inquiry and made an appointment immediately. He scoped out the project gave me an estimate which we further negotiated and we agreed on a price to remove a very large tree. His men removed the tree the following day, cleaned away the debris and I felt the work was professionally completed. I would recommend their services to anyone looking for tree removal."

"Very pleased with Almstead's service including speaking with Kristen, Michael's tree inspections and pruning crew. The 3 crew members were polite, very efficient, and did a great job of "cleaning up". Also impressed with Almstead's equipment and technology."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

The shepherd’s tree, native to the Kalahari Desert in Africa, holds the record for the deepest known tree roots at over 230 feet deep. Some African communities refer to it as the “Tree of Life” since it provides food, shade, and medicinal properties to the surrounding community.

You may wonder whether tree removal is tax deductible: Tree removal is not tax-deductible for homeowners unless it's related to a federally declared disaster. In that case, the cost may qualify as a casualty loss. However, if you own a commercial property, like a rental home, tree removal could be deductible if it's necessary for safety, maintenance, or part of a larger capital improvement project, and you must hire a professional tree removal service and keep documentation. Always consult a tax professional beforehand to see if you qualify.

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.
