"We have a great relationship with Alexander! From the first time we hired him from Angie list to remove all the scrubs and overgrown trees, to installing our sprinkler systems and now we have him maintain our lawn weekly. I couldn’t ask for better landscaping company."

"I was looking for someone who could take on a very large project that is so tedious and time consuming. My husband and I are getting older and having a hard time maintaining all of the large flower beds on front, back and sides of over an acre of property. Oscar answered our quote request within minutes of submitting and showed up within an hour to discuss the project. Oscar was so friendly, enthusiastic to work and take on any and all projects we discussed, no matter how small. We hired him to begin with weeding and edging and since we need 100 yards of mulch, decided to hold off. Oscar showed up the next day, Sunday afternoon, and weeded each flower bed methodically and with determination. He and his partner stayed until it was too dark and arrived first thing Monday morning to complete. We were so happy with his work we hired him to maintain our beds and property and also to install the mulch. Oscar is very quick to respond to any questions and willing to do anything to work with you. It is such a pleasure to know him and look forward to seeing how he transforms our home. He has the exact work ethic my husband and I have and have had trouble finding in many other companies we have tried in the past. Thank you Oscar!"

"Great experience dealing with Johnathan and his team. They are professional, fast and have great attention to detail. We had more work done than listed and everything came out great as usual. This is also our 2nd year working with VC Landscaping and will continue using them for any yard work or design needs. Don't hesitate to call them if shopping around, they are everything that's missing in the landscaping business by far!"

Plant Watering questions, answered by experts

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

It is possible to apply plaster on the interior or exterior of your home, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster is easy to apply in theory, but in reality, it can be a challenging material to work with, and it’s difficult to get the finished product to look clean, even, and smooth. Many DIYers end up calling in a professional afterward to touch up the area or even redo it entirely because of mistakes they made in the process. Hiring a plaster pro will cost more, but it’s usually the best option to achieve high-quality results.

Yes, drywall can hold a 50-pound TV. However, when mounting a TV, you’ll either need to attach it to wall studs or use drywall anchors. If you use anchors, make sure to buy a type that can hold at least 50 pounds. Molly bolts, threaded anchors, and toggle bolts are all good options. For extra support, you can also install a wall mounting plate with the anchors.

Yes, you can install drywall over plaster, but there are important factors to consider. While it can create a smooth, flat surface, it is often not the best approach. Installing drywall over plaster will increase the wall's thickness, which can cause issues with existing window and door frames that may no longer fit. You might also need to adjust power outlets to keep them accessible. A better, though more expensive, option is to remove the old plaster and lath entirely before installing new drywall. Drywalling directly over plaster seals in the old material, and if any problems arise later, you will need to remove both layers down to the structural beams for repairs. Given the potential complications, this job is best handled by professionals.

If your home’s foundation shifts slightly over time, any seams in the drywall represent the weakest point in the wall, leading to cracks. If your home has significant changes in temperature and humidity, this can cause the drywall to swell and contract slightly, causing a crack at the weak point of the seam. If your drywall installer did a poor job securing the panels to the wall studs, this could cause a weak layout and cracks in the seams.
