"My parents had a new sliding door with screen installed in their living room from Wonder Windows based on my Home Advisor project. The Wonder Windows location on Transit was new at the time that we started this process. An estimate was given and the door was ordered. It took quite a while for the door to come in and be installed but the team was professional and courteous. The door was installed in the Fall. The team came back to put on the screen door a few months later when the weather was warmer. There were a few bumps along the way but it was a positive experience overall."

"Cancelled the job. I believe he is over priced was nickel and diming everything. $4500.00 wouldnt touch having a new shower put in. There is no bathtub so that wasnt something i needed. Didnt touch the upper walls, didnt remove wall paper, extra cost for tearing out existing upper walls with wall paper. This is a tiny bathroom and he said the tile for shower floor to ceiling, and tile lower half of walls was"much more than 40 square feet". The $4500.00 price he charges barely covers anything. Very misleading and over priced. I would not recommend him."

"Kevin recently renovated our guest bathroom that was previously a stand-alone shower to now include a bathtub for our little one. He also demoed the old tile, replaced it with sheetrock, installed new flooring, added a new light fixture, toilet and installed a vanity. Kevin is just a good person who cares about his customers, which was obvious from the first time we met. He was kind, respectful, and thoughtful throughout the entire process from the quote to the last day on the job. Kevin provided advice and guidance but never pushed anything on us, just offered his suggestions based on his experience. He was very meticulous and detailed and went above beyond to be sure we had everything we wanted. We are so pleased with how the bathroom turned out and feel fortunate to have worked with Kevin and would certainly recommend him to anyone that may be looking to remodel!"

"Jamie did a great job with our patio door and kitchen floor replacement. Very happy with the quality of work he performed. Our project grew out-of-scope, but he communicated very well and was patient with us and worked around our schedules. I would definitely use J&J Construction again!"

Small jobs welcome

"Very knowledgeable and personal. Will politely offer alternatives that could make your life easier and/or save money. Brian installed a bunch of flooring and windows in my house. He did a phenomenal job, looks great, trim and minor details are spot on. He was also very patient with what is currently going on (inflation, price fluctuations, and transportation issues). He was in informative and communicated issues (it took us many months to get a few windows in). So, just be patient and communicate. I would definitely hire again."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

If your tub is attached to the wall, the best material will be one that can be shaped to fit your space perfectly. A cast-polymer, acrylic, or fiberglass tub will likely be the easiest to install as a built-in because it can be designed to fit your space.

A peeling bathtub is not a good thing. It’s a sign that the finish is coming off, and continued exposure to water and cleaning products can continue to damage the finish and eventually the underlying structure of the tub. What starts as a few chips or flakes can worsen into large chunks peeling off.

Installing a drop-in tub yourself is possible, especially if you’re replacing your existing tub with a new one of the same size. If you’re replacing a different type of tub, you’ll need to build the structure to hold the new drop-in tub and finish the exposed sides. The structure must be sturdy enough to hold the tub when it’s filled with water, and you’ll need to seal it. If any plumbing work is required, it’s best to call a licensed plumber who installs bathtubs.

Different bathtub materials have various advantages and disadvantages. Cast iron and copper are considered the most durable materials because they are dense and resistant to damage from scratches or dents. However, cast-iron tubs are heavy, expensive, and may not be suitable for upper floors. Copper offers unique benefits but requires regular chemical treatment to prevent a patina from forming, making cast iron a less maintenance-intensive option. Porcelain is a good second choice for durability. For those on a budget, acrylic is a popular option, though it is less durable.

It’s substantially less expensive to reglaze a tub than to replace it. The average cost of reglazing a bathtub is between $400 and $700, but that range may be higher based on where you live and the type of tub you have. Meanwhile, if you want to replace the bathtub, you’re looking at $2,000 to $9,400, with the average close to $5,700.
