It's possible to replace lower kitchen cabinets without removing the countertop. However, there are some special considerations to keep in mind. Expect to disassemble the existing cabinets without compromising the countertop's support. You might not be able to reuse the cabinets you remove. Next, you'll have to slightly modify the tops of the new cabinets and install blocking after installation to attach the base to the countertop.

Cabinets should last about 20 years. Of course, the total lifespan of your cabinet depends on the wear and tear it’s put through—the more use and handling, the faster it's prone to needing repair.
