"Mr. James Ryan of JRS Maintenance came to my home to replace the old pipes under my kitchen sink. He was extremely professional, polite, and accommodating when he made the appointment with me via text and phone confirmations. Customer service and courteous treatment were at the forefront of the conversations. When James arrived to do the work, he was prompt, clean, skilled, and knowledgeable. He went right to work and answered any questions I had for him pertaining to the job at hand. He even attached the pipes I need to install a new dishwasher. He advised me to get a new dishwasher, instead of fixing the old one. Many plumbers would fix the old one even if it wasn't advantageous to do so, just for the fee. "There are 3 jobs included in the quote. $1500 is for labor & material (fittings/plastic tubing), radiator was purchased by the client. 1. Replace outdoor faucet 2. Install radiator 3. Install a waterline for the new fridge/water dispenser. Anthony did job #1 and #2 well. However job#3 has problems. Water flows very slowly, which prompted me to research and discovered that the joint used (saddle type) is prohibited in NYC & NYS, as it is prone to leaking and causes reduced flow, a non-permanent solution according to code. Instead of running the water tubing between the floor joists and up the wall, Anthony drilled the floor and ran the plastic tube out of the cabinet and to the back of the fridge. This may be a quick shortcut, but it left the tubing exposed & prone to being pulled. Looking at the hole created in the ceiling, one may also conclude that this job was done in rush. After Christmas, I tried to contact Anthony to schedule a time to fix the joint. After 3 days, Anthony returned the call. He said that the word "code" was scaring him. Instead of listening, Anthony made quick assumptions and yelled. He then hung up, when I asked "Will you let me speak?". I gave Anthony a couple days to cool off before politely texting back to give him a chance for resolution. There's no response. Anthony gave one of the highest quotes, but his appeal of being a small business and ensuring client's satisfaction is why I hired him. The resolution I'm seeking for is a replacement of the saddle-type with a standard T-joint. This is a very reasonable & minimal request, considering the high quote and the condition we were left. This could have been a good project and review, it is unfortunate."
