Small jobs welcome

"I couldn?t be happier with my experience working with Sway Built! From start to finish, they were incredibly professional, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Every question I had was answered clearly and quickly, and the entire installation process was smooth and stress-free. The sauna itself completely transformed my backyard?it looks beautiful, feels luxurious, and has become my new favorite place to relax. You can really tell they take pride in their work and care about the details. I?d highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a sauna or elevate their outdoor space!"

"Anton was easy to work with. Sent email on a Sunday. He called in five minutes and came that afternoon to look at the job. Replaced baseboard in four bedrooms and repaired a hole in the ceiling. All work was completed in two days starting that Monday. The carpenter that did the baseboards (I think his name is John) was great, neat and did a wonderful job. I will definately call Anton again. "We have a smaller upstairs bathroom that had not been touched since 1975. The shower had been unusable for over a decade due to leakage. The space had to be completely gutted down to the studs and completely redone. The contractor we had used several times over the years retired, so we needed someone new who we could trust. Radical Renovations (Angelo) was recommended to us by N & S Supply in Kingston and I'm SO happy we hired him! He's professional, responsive, patient and finds solutions to all issues that invariably come up when you're dealing with old homes. Plus, the crew who he brought in to work with him was also pleasant and professional. I would absolutely hire Angelo again...in fact I already am!"

"

My doors were both original, 1940's style doors and very drafty. The back door was an odd size, so the opening has to be made a few inches larger. All the new trim work was made to match the existing house style. The installation was done quickly and efficiently, eliminating a major source of heat loss.

"Jorge and his crew did a great job. They started early in the morning and worked thru the whole day. I hired them to install a bluestone walkway and steps. The job was completed quicker than expected, turned out great and they cleaned up the whole area. They take pride in their work and I highly recommend them."

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

The primary difference between a steam shower and a sauna is the type of heat they produce. A sauna generates dry heat using electricity, while a steam shower creates wet heat from steam, resulting in nearly 100% humidity. A steam shower typically replaces an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and operates at a lower temperature (around 90-120°F) than a sauna, though the high humidity can make it feel just as warm. It is advisable to limit steam sessions to 20 minutes. In contrast, a sauna is a fully enclosed space that can be placed anywhere in a house and produces dry heat.

It will take several hours or more to build a sauna. A prefab kit will take anywhere from three to 20 hours to install, depending on complexity and your skill level. If you’re doing a custom build, it can take more than 50 hours—especially if you need to add ventilation, ductwork, and other renovations.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

A home sauna may be considered a luxury item by some homebuyers, which can provide a good return on investment. However, whether it increases your home's value ultimately depends on the buyer, as some may not want to take on the extra costs and maintenance associated with heating and upkeep.
