"It is with deep satisfaction that I recommend Grady?s Painting and Plastering & Construction. Mr. George Grady is a skilled craftsman. He was hired to correct long neglected and extensive masonry and window issues on a large, beautiful Presbyterian Church built in the Civil War era in Philadelphia. The property was neglected with only minimal maintenance performed over the last 40+ years. The building was in severe decline and in need of stabilization and restoration on many fronts. Cracked ledge plates were chipped out and reestablished, internal walls damaged by leakage were broken out and repaired, brickwork was repointed and in severe cases reestablished to original strength and beauty. Leaks around the base of the building were addressed to stabilize deterioration of the foundation. Large rotted window sills under beautiful stained glass windows were restored after significant masonry reestablishment due to water damage under the rotted out sills. Broken and missing stained glass windows are in the process of repair and replacement. The process started with new metal frames cast by Mr. Grady. The new frames will hold clear painted replications of the original stained glass, also crafted by Mr. Grady. Regular windows all around the church and manse were also repaired and restored. Roof leaks were accurately identified and repaired. A sagging plaster ceiling has been torn out and restored. All this work was done by Mr. Grady alone or with an occasional helper. He worked with care, expertise and respect for the original structure. The results far exceeded our expectations and have injected new life into a building on the brink. This building, owned by the Presbytery of Philadelphia, now houses a new urban ministry in a newly gentrifying area of the city. "The walls that were painted were done well. There was no time to complete the trim around the windows and base molding, alas,  and the painters were not available to come back for over a week. Therefore, we were stuck with our house in shambles (breakables removed, paintings taken off walls, etc.) and the job not completely done. Initially I was not happy.
However, the price was insanely low for what WAS accomplished and it is hard to blame these nice people for having run out of time. So: fair enough. I (and they) should have foreseen that time would run out and we should have decided together that the small hall would not be done in exchange for completion of the the trim.
Unfortunately, there was some light splattering of white paint here and there (on the floors and rugs and furniture)  in the rooms that were painted. The company is insured, though, and so a professional cleaner has come and taken care of the main problems at no additional cost to us. A leather specialist is scheduled to come remove the last remaining paint stains on the leather couch. Scott is an honorable businessman and his team of workers, though imperfect , were very courteous and well-meaning and easy to have around. He was responsive to my feedback and swiftly took care of matters in so far as possible.
In the end , I am not quite a totally satisfied customer (it would have been better to have everything completed on schedule and no paint spatters to deal with) but I am not a furiously unhappy customer either. I hired someone else to come in and finish the trim  at very low cost to me and everything looks fine right now. The couch will be cleaned in a few weeks.
If I use these painters again (and I might, because they were so nice) ,  I will stress the need for adequate protective coverage of furniture and I will do more preliminary preparation myself before the job is begun.

"Tim always returned my calls with an update as to materials, when they would be ready, color match my tin roof on my Maple Sap house, he did a great job matching and putting on my gutters to the same structure. He is now looking into getting me storm windows to protect my much loved old 6 pane windows. He had the Supplier call me to go over all the specs on the storm windows,,,, you just don't see that kind of service these days"

"Boone's painting did an absolutely amazing job power washing our house today.  I wish I had before and after pictures to do justice to the work he provided.  I was prepared to paint my shutters, but the work they performed today restored things to looking like they did 7 years ago.  They performed the work until they were happy with the results which took two cleanings on 3 sides and a third cleaning on the 4th side of the house.  When I returned from work Daniel stopped by the house to walk me through his work and discuss any potential issues he thought may be present.  As a result of this experience when I need any painting work, I will definitely be contacting Boone's painting.

"Amanda from Homemade design provided me with a variety of suggestions for couches, end-tables, lamps, window coverings, rugs, paints, accessories to match my style and color preferences for my living room. Amanda has better than great ideas and worked to stay within my budget. I also hired Amanda to design my kitchen, dining room, game room, and master bedroom and bath. Building and furnishing a house is a daunting task, and Amanda was a great help in putting it all together. I couldn't have done it without her. Well done Amanda! Would I recommend Amanda? Todd did an awesome job. He could visualize what we wanted in the project and delivered. He is the most honest contractor we've ever worked with. We gave him our garage door code to get in so he could have access to the electrical panels when we were not home.  No matter how busy he was he always stopped to talk about what we wanted or needed done on the job. If there were any issues or problems with the work (we had nothing major at all!), as soon as we mentioned it to him, BAM, it was corrected without any comments, questions or complaints!!!!! There was a problem with our roof installation that we were unaware of but Todd noticed it and was not happy. He took that section of roof down and replaced it correctly. He pointed out what the problem was and absorbed the cost himself (which is the correct and professional thing to do!). It's about 21 X 12 foot porch, with rough cedar siding inside and vinyl siding outside. He tore out and replaced a retaining wall on one side. He ripped off the old indoor-outdoor carpeting and installed tile flooring on the concrete base. He hooked up a storm door, cable, electrical outlets, ceiling fan and lighting. He also built Plexiglas panels to pop into the screened windows to keep out wind, rain or snow and built a beautiful storage "cabinet" for them when they are out.

We would and WILL have Todd back to our home for some more work that needs to be done here.

He also did a massive bi-level deck at my sisters home that is absolutely gorgeous. (She is not an Angie's member which is why I mention it.)

We think Todd is the next best thing to sliced bread. We've got dibs on him, so you may have to wait to get him to your place!!!!!
