"I hired Steve to help me install 4 windows at my house in Lake Luzerne. Steve reached out to me immediately after the inquiry and we discussed the project in detail. Within a day or two he stopped by the house to look at the scope of the project. The price quote was excellent, we hired him. He was a pleasure to work with and had great communication skills . The window installation was completed and it looks great. I asked Steve if he could help me again this weekend, he is scheduled to come back Saturday morning. Nice, honest, respectful person. "I needed stucco repair work on an old chimney (and other spots). Grady was meticulous and thoughtful on what approaches and materials would work. Throughout the project they allocated sufficient time for each treatment to cure and inspected the work before proceeding to the next step. Grady started the project with no money down and only required ongoing payments for materials until the project was well underway. The final payment was due only after they did a final inspection. Total project cost was also below other bids."

"Made an appt. with Castle Rep, James, for 17 windows and vinyl siding. He spent 1 hour talking about how great his company and windows are before finally getting down to the issue. We were told that CASTLE makes and services their own window, with all the best technology and technicians available. The price per window for energy efficient came out to over $1,200 per double-hung window! And since they make their own products, we could not find a way to compare quality and price with other manufacturers. But his per-window price exceeds the average price of $500-700 by A LOT! When we balked, he made a call to his "manager" to see if we qualified for a "special promotional" discount. If we were to commit right there on the spot, we would get an additional 10% off! Still way to high. We said we would think about it (he got sad and snippy), and that we wanted to hear about the vinyl siding quote before we made any decisions. He told us he could not give us a siding quote until his company did an "eagle view" measurement, which would require another appointment! We had no intention of sitting through ANOTHER high-pressure appointment. High pressure, long-drawn out presentation and he would not leave us with anything in writing! No brochures, prices, nothing! He refused to put anything in writing and we could not have a break down of labor and costs. I even asked him if I could have a copyhh of the window warranty and he said "only if you purchase right now." And they did not come prepared with references or previous job locations! When we further researched the company, we found they did make very excellent products, but the #1 complaint was by far that they did not honor their lifetime warranty and that customer service was horrible. In the end, we chose not to do business.."

"Estimate/seeing space - late and rescheduled once. 
I run my own business so took off a day and scheduled a day for the painting a few weeks in advance.  The morning the work was to be done I called after they were late and was told they weren't coming.  He had been at the firehouse all night and was still there.  Not one of his other 3 employees or him tried to call the night before or early in the am to let me know.  I love those that volunteer but when people are counting on someone to show up, it is no way to run a business. 
He rescheduled with my husband to come 2 days later - I had to work so my husband had to work from home to accomodate the change.  We had company coming into to town so needed it done asap. 
Actual work was fine and completed in the time they said.
