"It is with deep satisfaction that I recommend Grady?s Painting and Plastering & Construction. Mr. George Grady is a skilled craftsman. He was hired to correct long neglected and extensive masonry and window issues on a large, beautiful Presbyterian Church built in the Civil War era in Philadelphia. The property was neglected with only minimal maintenance performed over the last 40+ years. The building was in severe decline and in need of stabilization and restoration on many fronts. Cracked ledge plates were chipped out and reestablished, internal walls damaged by leakage were broken out and repaired, brickwork was repointed and in severe cases reestablished to original strength and beauty. Leaks around the base of the building were addressed to stabilize deterioration of the foundation. Large rotted window sills under beautiful stained glass windows were restored after significant masonry reestablishment due to water damage under the rotted out sills. Broken and missing stained glass windows are in the process of repair and replacement. The process started with new metal frames cast by Mr. Grady. The new frames will hold clear painted replications of the original stained glass, also crafted by Mr. Grady. Regular windows all around the church and manse were also repaired and restored. Roof leaks were accurately identified and repaired. A sagging plaster ceiling has been torn out and restored. All this work was done by Mr. Grady alone or with an occasional helper. He worked with care, expertise and respect for the original structure. The results far exceeded our expectations and have injected new life into a building on the brink. This building, owned by the Presbytery of Philadelphia, now houses a new urban ministry in a newly gentrifying area of the city. "The walls that were painted were done well. There was no time to complete the trim around the windows and base molding, alas,  and the painters were not available to come back for over a week. Therefore, we were stuck with our house in shambles (breakables removed, paintings taken off walls, etc.) and the job not completely done. Initially I was not happy.
However, the price was insanely low for what WAS accomplished and it is hard to blame these nice people for having run out of time. So: fair enough. I (and they) should have foreseen that time would run out and we should have decided together that the small hall would not be done in exchange for completion of the the trim.
Unfortunately, there was some light splattering of white paint here and there (on the floors and rugs and furniture)  in the rooms that were painted. The company is insured, though, and so a professional cleaner has come and taken care of the main problems at no additional cost to us. A leather specialist is scheduled to come remove the last remaining paint stains on the leather couch. Scott is an honorable businessman and his team of workers, though imperfect , were very courteous and well-meaning and easy to have around. He was responsive to my feedback and swiftly took care of matters in so far as possible.
In the end , I am not quite a totally satisfied customer (it would have been better to have everything completed on schedule and no paint spatters to deal with) but I am not a furiously unhappy customer either. I hired someone else to come in and finish the trim  at very low cost to me and everything looks fine right now. The couch will be cleaned in a few weeks.
If I use these painters again (and I might, because they were so nice) ,  I will stress the need for adequate protective coverage of furniture and I will do more preliminary preparation myself before the job is begun.

"They arrived on time and talked with me first before any work was done.  You see, I have two dogs and I had to make sure the fence was back up before they left as this was a two-day job.  They understood because if it wasn't up, my dogs would just take off.   The old fence was down and a new one was put up.  The slats were put in the next day.  On the first day, before they left, my yard was cleaned of debris so my dogs wouldn't get at it.  I appreciate the caring.  The next day, it was finished and I talked to them about gate adjustment and all went well.  They worked non-stop - had to stop from time to time due to thunderstorm. Just want to say the price was right as I had a few estimates and this was right on.  Even though others were close, I went with these guys because they are a family business and treated me with respect and answered every question I had.  They guarantee their work and to this day, no problems.  You won't be sorry having your fence put in by FENCEWORKS.  I already have recommended them.  BY THE WAY, YOU SHOULD SEE MY FENCE, it looks awesome, as it matches my home with brown shutters and door.

"Tim always returned my calls with an update as to materials, when they would be ready, color match my tin roof on my Maple Sap house, he did a great job matching and putting on my gutters to the same structure. He is now looking into getting me storm windows to protect my much loved old 6 pane windows. He had the Supplier call me to go over all the specs on the storm windows,,,, you just don't see that kind of service these days"
