"Sergio and his Dad were super polite. They encountered an issue in drywall install that took extra time and materials but came out looking the way I wanted. They clean up afterwards. I also liked the fact the contract and receipts came by email and text."

Small jobs welcome

"Arek and his team are top notch. They are professional, responsive and the quality of work they do is unmatched. I recently had them patch drywall holes and repaint. They did a great job with the patches and matching the paint. It was like the holes were never there. I would recommend them for any of your painting needs."

Customers say: True professional

"Edwin and crew painted my ceilings, caulked and painted the moldings. He repaired a section of drywall and also painted it the proper color. He was very professional, arrived on time, and did all that was needed. I would definitely hire him again, and have recommended him to my neighbors."

"This project went very well, and we are thrilled with the results. We used VAP Contracting in the past for a smaller project, and didn't hesitate to use them again for this larger project. Victor is very professional: he is easy to reach and he always either picks up the phone or responds to messages or emails within a day. He works with a great crew of craftsmen who are punctual, honest, reliable, and who take pride in their work. This project required lots of digging, stone cutting, cement mixing, etc., but every day the work area was left as clean as possible. Victor also used a subcontractor for the stonework. This firm was also very reliable and professional - their skilled craftsmen were on-site every day during the 6-week duration of the project, carefully laying each stone in place to create beautiful staircases and patios. Victor coordinated all of the work, and both he and the subcontractor stopped by the house often to supervise the work, provide updates, and to answer any questions we had.
It's always a pleasure working with Victor and VAP contracting and look forward to working with him on future projects.

"He contacted me right away, came the next day to look at a broken window and a broken screen came back the next day and completed it in a very timely manner. I highly recommend his service."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.

In most cases, plaster repair will improve your home’s energy efficiency because a solid barrier of the insulative material helps keep conditioned air inside your home. Major plaster repair jobs like repairing large cracks or crumbling sections of plaster or applying a skim coat might make a noticeable difference in your heating and cooling bills. Not only can plaster repairs improve efficiency, but they can also reduce strain on your HVAC equipment, potentially saving you money on maintenance and repairs.

In many cases, installing new drywall will boost your home value. Replacing old, damaged, cracked, or wavy drywall is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, as new drywall installed by a professional shouldn’t have any imperfections. Additionally, removing old drywall means you’ll have open walls, so you can install new insulation and address exposed issues with plumbing and electrical systems running behind the walls. All of these fixes will also add to your home’s value.

Your walls are likely cracking due to fluctuations in the temperature outside. Drywall tends to expand and contract when temperatures and humidity levels change, and this repeated movement can lead to cracks in your walls, particularly around door frames. If you have multiple diagonal cracks, you may want to have your foundation inspected, as cracks can also be a sign of a bigger issue.

Whether you apply the drywall mesh before or after drywall mud depends on the type of patch it is. For self-adhesive patches, you’ll put the patch down first and then coat it with mud. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.
