"Really pleased with the work of Nick and his team. Used them for a custom furniture build and then again for a small kitchen project. Very responsive and professional. Would recommend and use again in the future."

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."

"This company is awesome! I’ve hired multiple carpet companies over the years. Never impressed until now. They took a 20 year old house we bought never taken care of, and brought to carpets back to new. Absolutely outstanding work ethic and treated it like it was their home. Recommended hire all day long!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Your Lancaster home is ideal for upholstering if you own well-built or heirloom furniture that fits your space and style. Homes with dry, climate-controlled storage areas help protect newly upholstered pieces. Consider reupholstering if you want to refresh interiors while maintaining original craftsmanship, especially in neighborhoods with established, character-rich homes. Evaluate room size and layout to ensure furniture restoration will enhance both comfort and function.

Helpful?

For upholstery projects in Lancaster, knowing your home’s age, layout, and architectural style helps match furniture scale and fabric patterns. Accurate measurements of doorways, stairwells, and hallways are essential for moving large pieces. Consider your home’s color palette, flooring materials, and available storage. If you have pets or an older HVAC system, opt for durable, stain-resistant fabrics to ensure long-lasting results.

Helpful?

Lancaster homeowners should plan upholstery projects around seasonal weather, as humidity and temperature changes can affect fabric selection and delivery. Local furniture restoration shops may have longer lead times before holidays, so book early. Check for neighborhood guidelines on contractor work hours and parking for delivery trucks. Choose materials that withstand NY’s climate, and consider community preferences when selecting patterns or colors for visible pieces.

Helpful?

Coordinating upholstery with other home improvements in Lancaster can be efficient. Schedule projects like painting, flooring, or window installation before reupholstering to prevent accidental fabric damage. Spring and fall offer mild weather for moving furniture and airing out new fabrics. If you’re already rearranging rooms for renovations, combining services like furniture restoration or fabric selection can streamline the process and minimize disruption.

Helpful?

In Lancaster, older homes often feature narrow doorways, tight staircases, or small foyers, which can make moving large furniture pieces difficult for upholstery projects. If your home has a finished basement or attic with low ceilings or sharp turns, measure all access points before scheduling furniture restoration. Split-level layouts and Cape Cod styles may require extra planning for safe transport and workspace setup.
