"Jorge and his crew were excellent with their craftsmanship. They took up and removed the concrete front walkway that was cracked and crumbing and put down beautiful pavers in an elegant design. Then evened out and resurfaced my front steps which were cracked and crumbing.. The pricing was consistent with their job Excellent. They arrived on time , cleaned up the debris and were courteous and explained everything as they did the job."

Customers say: Quick response

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Hudson Valley Landscaping & Drainage to address a persistent flooding issue in my homeâ s crawl space, and Iâ m very glad I did. Marc, the owner, demonstrated an impressive level of attention to detail, thoroughly assessed the problem, and considered both short-term solutions and long-term prevention. The work progressed swiftly. Marc and his team were punctual, arriving exactly when they said they would. Their efficiency allowed us to get back to normalcy sooner than expected. After resolving the drainage problem, I was very pleased with how beautifully they restored the affected yard space. The landscaping work was perfect. I really appreciated the dialogue about options that resulted in the thoughtful placement of plants. Itâ s like our yard got a makeover! Throughout the project, the crew maintained its professionalism. Itâ s refreshing to work with a team that takes pride in their craft and treats your home respectfully. We have already discussed what future projects are possible. And, after the recent rain storms we just had, that crawl space is as dry as a bone. If youâ re seeking a reliable, skilled team for landscaping and drainage work, look no further. Hudson Valley Landscaping & Drainage delivers exceptional results. I wholeheartedly recommend them!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Digging a well can cost between $20 and $25,000, depending on your needs. If you’re looking to dig a well yourself, all you need is a shovel. If you’re looking to have a well drilled by a professional, you can expect to pay around $15 to $30 per foot. The total cost of drilling a well will average to $5,500.

Hardscaping often requires preparation of the ground in the area where the feature is being installed. This can include digging, compacting, and leveling the soil, ensuring adequate drainage, and removing any existing plants. The extent of preparation needed will depend on the type and size of the hardscaping feature being installed.

Call 811 to locate and mark the gas lines at least three days before digging. In many areas, you can dig within 18 inches of the lines, though in some locations, the distance may be further. Check local regulations, as you may need a utility company representative onsite when digging. Document your calls to 811 and precautions taken to avoid gas lines. A homeowner can be held liable for hitting a gas line in some cases, but contacting the proper authorities and following all guidelines can offer protection.

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

Consultation with the local government helps identify necessary permits, avoid project delays or legal issues, and protect project integrity.
