When the second company came, they did a more intensive investigation of the work and found that the wires that were already sitting in the switch, were hot. They then followed them to where they were going down through the floor of my attic and found that they were just sitting under the floor and on top of the insulation. No box. I just felt that this needed to be taken care of asap. Since the 2nd company had made the discovery and they were already there, I used them. Prices were comparable.
