Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

It typically takes 1-3 days, depending on weather, fence size, and drying times between coats, particularly for thorough coverage conditioning.

Shadowbox fence maintenance depends on the material. But for wood shadowbox fences, maintenance typically includes annual cleaning to prevent mold growth, resealing or staining every two to three years, and promptly replacing any damaged or rotted boards.
