"Mr. Narine showed up on time, did a thorough job of diagnosing my issue (Leaking in bathroom) and did a great job of repairing it. Easy to work with and really reasonably priced. Have had him come back for a second bathroom leak in different apt. Did another great job. Have a few other projects, will definitely call him back."

"Beautiful showroom, great help with design, on time delivery, and excellent installers! Did a total kitchen redo and looks beautiful! All questions or concerns answered and handled right away and the installers were always early or on time, and very unobtrusive, neat and polite. Project finished ahead of time and we would use KBW again in a heartbeat. One issue was receipt of a damaged cabinet which they rectified right away and are replacing. Thanks Sara, Jim, Ed and Matt!"

"They were on time, very courteous and very professional. I will definitely use their service again when the young man Brian was here. He also mentioned that he does Tile and grout cleaning. We set up another appointment to have them back to do that. Also, the carpets look brand new again these people seem to really care about what they’re doing. Thank you again."

"Extremely professional. Originally looked to have floor refinished, but in the end turned out to be better to totally replace it. Did the work very quickly and a great job. Matter of fact, price and work was so good, hired him to do my kitchen floor next week. :)"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

To ensure an even and unbending surface to lay tiles on, you’ll typically need to put a subfloor under a tile floor. Fiber cement backboards are the most common choice, but using plywood is also possible. Don’t neglect this step, or you could risk water damage and grout or tiles prematurely cracking or crumbling, especially in an area with high foot traffic.

There are several low-maintenance shower floor tiles to consider for your bathroom. Stone tiles are easy to keep clean and only need an occasional resealing to keep them looking their best. Porcelain is another low-maintenance choice, as it doesn’t stain easily. Vinyl is also suitable for easy upkeep. On the other hand, one of the highest maintenance options for bathrooms is wood tile.

The grout shade you choose comes down to personal taste and preference. A darker grout will give you a more dramatic and noticeable contrast with the tile around it; however, lighter grout helps create a more uniform look when blending the colors together. Additionally, a darker grout combined with a patterned tile could be overwhelming to the eye, while lighter grout makes the pattern stand out as the main focus.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.
