"I’ve used Scott in the past and I’ve always been very pleased. So when my kitchen flooded and I need new flooring in kitchen and dining room I immediately called Scott. Despite Covid 19 Scott was prompt pleasant and PPE prepared. The process was smooth and very stress free. I have high expectations when I hired for services and Scott and his team not only meet but exceed my expectations. I have used Scott for many projects inside( carpet, flooring) and out ( carpet pool area). And I’ve always been more than pleased. I would be happy , and honored, to give Scott and Genco flooring a recommendation All the prior work done by Scott and his team was beautiful then and continues to beautify my home to date. I would love to say THANK YOU MOST SINCERELY to Scott and his team. If anyone is interested in seeing Scott’s work in my home please let Scott know and I will provide you pictures or my phone number. Most sincerely Jodi W."

"When they came to give us an estimate they said t would cost $600 which we thought was ridiculous, so we were able to get them down to $200 plus tax. They said for that price we could get a surface shampooing. They took the rug, brought it back a week later and it doesnt look that much cleaner. From other reviews I read I thought I would be wow'd. Maybe if we paid more they would have done a better job?

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Deciding whether to clean or replace your carpet depends on its condition and age. If cleaning no longer resolves issues, it's time to consider a replacement. Key signs that you need to replace your carpet include:

  • Stains that are impossible to remove.

  • A persistent smell that lingers even after cleaning.

  • An increase in allergy symptoms.

  • The age of the carpet. Most manufacturers state that carpets should last about 10 years with proper care.

When cleaning is no longer effective, you should replace the carpet with a new one or consider other flooring options like vinyl or laminate.

Yes, you can revive carpet that’s flattened using household items like an ice cube and stiff brush, a damp cloth and an iron, baking soda and vinegar, and shaving cream. If you want to go all-out, visit a local home improvement store and buy a carpet rake, too. Depending on the state of your carpet, you may need to use more than one of these methods to see results. Keep in mind that you might need to repeat a reviving method more than once.

Decent carpet will last around 10 years on stairs. Some less durable carpets, like polyester, will only last five years on stairs. The ideal carpet, like wool or nylon, can last about 15 to 25 years. You’ll know when to replace it when it starts wearing down. You may have to replace it sooner if it's stained, whether due to water damage or pets.

Through accurate measurements and dye matching to the original finishes.

While it may not always be ideal, you can fix a squeaky floorboard without removing the carpet. Pros use specialized carpet screws and drive them through the carpet into the subfloor, securing floorboards. They may also use nails instead of screws if they suspect the pile will get caught in the screw. While some types of carpet will hide the screws and nails, a low-pile carpet may not.
