"Anton was easy to work with. Sent email on a Sunday. He called in five minutes and came that afternoon to look at the job. Replaced baseboard in four bedrooms and repaired a hole in the ceiling. All work was completed in two days starting that Monday. The carpenter that did the baseboards (I think his name is John) was great, neat and did a wonderful job. I will definately call Anton again. "Wilson pretty much built the deck and erected the Gazebo as if it were his own. He listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. Wilson is probably the hardest working contractor I have ever seen. If I have another project, I will not hesitate to contact Wilson and his crew."

"Frank came in on time and in budget. He thought through some challenging issues well. He was meticulous in details. Always cleaned up. Very positive attitude. Would use him in a heartbeat. Wish I had had him on other remodeling I have done. He sets an exceptionally high standard."

I’ve been working in plumbing and Drain Cleaning for over 7 years, currently serving the greater Hudson Valley Area of NY, Northern NJ and Pike County PA. I take real pride in doing things the right way, not the easy way. Whether it’s a simple fix or a full system overhaul, I treat every job like it’s my own home. My goal is straightforward, show up on time, do clean work, and leave you with zero headaches.

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.

There are a variety of second-story deck privacy ideas depending on your budget and aesthetic. For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.
