"Joe and his team were very courteous and professional . The job was done to perfection. I had a busted heating pipe and it damaged the ceiling and downstairs foyer. He replaced all the drywall and painted the area. They never left a messy jobsite and keep the dust to a minimum. They will always be the company I call when I need drywall repaired. I definitely recommend Artistic Drywall."

"They only charge $1,000 for the entire roof of my garage, and it was a good deal. This included removal of all the old shingles, and hauling all of the used material off the property to the dump. -Debra Castrinos"

"Great! Ricardo and the team were timely, professional and did great work. We have an older house with some tricky repairs and the crew was able to make the repairs, match the stain and they look great. We paid extra for the "dustless" service - well worth it to keep 99% of the dust out of the existing living spaces - but we still used plastic to seal off the living spaces as an added precaution. Whole job was done in under 3 days."

"and w
James (owner) came to give estimate within 2 days of my contact. He gave estimate on the spot after viewing the premises.
The estimate was detailed and specified amounts of each service (power washing, trim painting, deck and complete house painting, as we were unsure of whether we wanted the whole job done at one time.

We opted for whole job, partly because James gave a very positive impression, professional and sincere...did not try to and quot;selland quot; anything.
Gave what we thought was a very fair estimate, on the spot, without charging extra for every little thing, as has been the case with other estimators.

James was on job site working along side his (4-5) young men team. They were all very polite and professional. Neighbors commented on what good workers they were and what a good paint job they did. In addition to painting, James did some carpentry work on our deck floor boards and replaced the soffits fascia.

We are delighted with the way everything turned out. Have already gotten an estimate for the interior painting. I recommend this company very highly."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

It depends on the type of texture you’re adding but yes, you can often use a roller to texturize a ceiling. The roller needs to be able to hold enough medium to create some relief on the ceiling but not so much that gravity will pull it off before it dries. Using a roller with a nap between ½” and ¾” will allow the roller to hold enough material to do the trick.

No, not all popcorn ceilings have asbestos, but a vast majority do. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned its use in 1973, although it still may have been used up through the early ‘90s. But, in general, homes built or remodeled before the early ‘80s likely utilized materials with asbestos. That being said, a professional test is the only way to determine for sure.

No, you do not have to worry about new popcorn ceilings having asbestos. All residential building materials used since the mid-1980s stopped including asbestos, so new popcorn ceilings have no risk of asbestos. You can still create a textured drywall ceiling with a popcorn texture if you like, but new techniques have no risk of adding asbestos.

Knockdown hides imperfections better than orange peel due to its thicker, more varied pattern. The valleys and peaks make flaws less visible under lighting. However, note that knockdown walls will collect more dust and dirt, so be prepared to wipe them away more frequently than you would with orange peel.

Although texturing walls may not seem like a lengthy project, you’ll need to set aside between one and five days to complete it properly. The exact amount will depend on the scope of your project—one room will take less than a whole-house project. That will give you enough time for tasks that are time-consuming in and of themselves, like taping wall edges, priming the walls and letting them dry fully, and actually applying the texture and top or base paint coats.
