"Handy Hubby Steve repaired cement stairs and installed a new outside back door. He did an awesome job. Steve was always on time and made sure everything was done properly. His prices were very reasonable. Great personality. Very personable. I will definitely use him in the future for any other repairs I need done."

"After a horrible experience with the last pool service I found Big Blue on Angie's list.  I called and they started service right away.  They were always on time and the same person serviced my pool every week so he got to know the ins and outs.  All personel were friendly, knowledgable and courteous.  Mike goes out of his way to help in any way he can.
We also purchased a loop-loc pool cover from Mike and it was installed with no fuss no muss.
My only small complaint is that it is sometimes hard to get in touch with Mike and he can be slow answering voice and email.
I highly recommend Big Blue Pools.  Even though they are based in Suffolk County they service Nassau County as well.

"Excellent service!  Arrived as scheduled, did a very thorough job of winterizing my pool.  Stored everything away, cleaned the DE filter for next season.  Very happy with this company and will absolutely use them again!

"From the first phone call to the repair our experience was a 10 out of 10. Our usual service provider suggested to put a heater on it that they can't come when it's freezing. Jack was fabulous. Came the same day, found the issue, fixed it and my saved my hot tub from disrepair due to extreme cold weather. Saved me so much money. They are a great company. I will use them every time. Professional and caring. Bravo!"

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.

A home sauna may be considered a luxury item by some homebuyers, which can provide a good return on investment. However, whether it increases your home's value ultimately depends on the buyer, as some may not want to take on the extra costs and maintenance associated with heating and upkeep.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

It will take several hours or more to build a sauna. A prefab kit will take anywhere from three to 20 hours to install, depending on complexity and your skill level. If you’re doing a custom build, it can take more than 50 hours—especially if you need to add ventilation, ductwork, and other renovations.
