"We worked with Hector on 3 projects recently. He was able to take over a bathroom renovation project that we started, but needed a professional to help finish. He also completely repaired our ceiling under the bathroom as there was a significant amount of water damage that required more attention than just some simple patching. Separately, he repaired multiple rotten window sills we had, fixing the carpentry and then completing all the finishing work around the windows. For the bathroom project, it was fairly difficult work on the ceiling, specifically around the soffits but Hector was able to complete the work quickly and efficiently. He has a good eye for details and he doesn’t rush. He definitely cares about how things are going to look in the end and he takes the right amount of time to do it right, never skipping steps. He’s fair and always does what he says he is going to do. Overall just a really nice guy. We will definitely work with Hector and his team in the future. "

Yes, stucco can be installed over existing siding, but some contractors wouldn’t recommend it. Putting stucco over other types of siding requires careful consideration and proper preparation. Stucco is regularly added over brick and wood siding; however, some of the biggest factors affecting stucco installation include the condition of the existing siding and whether it’s strong enough to hold the weight of the stucco. A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. While you don’t absolutely need a hammer drill for stucco, it is a worthy investment if you think you might drill more holes down the road.

Inspect annually for cracks, clean with a mild detergent, and reseal or repaint as needed to preserve appearance.

In many areas, a permit is required to remove stucco siding, especially if structural repairs or new siding installation are involved. Check with your local building department for specific requirements and associated permit fees before starting your project. Permit fees range from $100 to $500.

Due to application and cure times between coats, stuccoing a house takes between 10 and 14 days. Professionals may be able to wrap up projects on smaller homes in 7 to 10 days, while stuccoing large, multi-level homes can take more than two weeks.
