"The helped insulate the floor in an extension of the home. The floor used to be ice cold and actually froze my heating pipes! The floor is now the same temperature as the rest of the walls and is much more comfortable in winter!"

"Dan and Josh were incredible. Not only were they both friendly and extremely knowledgeable, but the were early on the day the work was to be done. They explained exactly what they were doing. They showed me progress along the way. They had recommendations and were adaptable to my schedule. The results were shocking. We live in an old lake house and really needed to improve the insulation. There were spots where there was little to no insulation and some where there was insulation but not enough. Even the first night the difference was amazing. I can't recommend Dan and Josh enough. So worth the money I spent. You need insulation hire them. I promise you will be thrilled."

"Jason is a busy man, which made communication tough at times, but he was always polite, informative, knowledgeable, and honest. He and his crew did wonderful work, he went out of his way to accommodate a number of requests, and the price he gave me was nothing short of awesome! I would recommend him to anyone in need of insulation."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Most insulation lasts 15 to 20 years, but it really depends on the type of insulation. Spray foam is a permanent insulation material that can last up to 100 years. Fiberglass and cellulose typically settle, shift, or deteriorate around 15 years. Once your insulation reaches the 15-year mark, it's time to check it for signs of needing to be replaced.

Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, but the actual temperature that can cause frozen pipes can vary. Generally, it takes 12 hours for pipes to freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Uninsulated pipes can freeze if it’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit or colder for over three hours. If your pipes are insulated, it can take six hours or longer for pipes to freeze. Note that some pipe types freeze more often than PEX pipes. Copper pipes freeze more often because the copper conducts energy and loses heat quickly.

Yes, exposure to fiberglass insulation can cause harm to your skin and eyes. However, this typically refers to the fiberglass insulation that is mostly used in walls and attics. Fiberglass doors don’t pose risks for fiberglass exposure because they're fully encased in polymer cladding.

Yes, you should insulate behind shower walls. Insulating helps prevent heat loss, which keeps the shower or tub from getting too cold and helps maintain a comfortable temperature in your bathroom. Additionally, proper insulation and air sealing can help prevent wall rot and moisture buildup. It is recommended to use a high R-value rated foam insulation combined with a vapor barrier.

The ideal temperature for your garage in the winter is between 40 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Maintaining a minimum temperature of at least 40 to 50 degrees is crucial to prevent pipes, liquids, and other items from freezing. Low temperatures can also drain your car battery, so keeping the garage stable is vital for your vehicle. While the lower end of the range protects your belongings, the higher end is based on your personal preference for a comfortable space. If you struggle to keep the temperature from dropping below 40 degrees, consider installing a garage heater.
