"Zack came into my home to install light fixtures and outlets as well as to do some wiring. He was quick and efficient, and friendly with my kids to boot! I am very happy with the finished product and will definitely be having him back for any other electrical work I need done around the house."

"I am still giddy over’s the job they did!!!!! I sincerely felt like a kid at Christmas when I looked at my yard!! They went way above and beyond, and even trimmed and pruned places I hadn’t asked them to do!! I would hire them again in a New York minute!! If you need anything done in your yard, and you don’t call this company, you are crazy!!!!!"

"The team that worked on our project is awesome! We had a pretty tricky ceiling fan situation where the previous fan was improperly installed and surrounding electrical was not grounded. These guys took extra care to make sure the new ceiling beam mount was safe and sturdy, the circuit was grounded and our new fan was installed and working. The new fan is also a “smart” fan that has an adapter to connect to Amazon Alexa/Google Home and these guys still made sure everything worked as we wanted. We will absolutely have these guys back for any future electrical needs. Thank you!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

No, a ceiling fan doesn’t have to be wired to a switch, but it’s often more convenient. You can use the included pull chain if your ceiling isn’t too high or install a remote module later, as they are a cheap, easy-to-install option that’ll let you control both the fan and light fixture.

There’s no reason why you can’t install a ceiling fan anywhere in your home, such as in living rooms, offices, bedrooms, and dining areas. Most bathrooms already have ventilation and don’t need a ceiling fan. For safety purposes, avoid installing a ceiling fan where the blades will be less than eight feet from the floor, near bunk beds, or anywhere else they may hit nearby objects.

Ceiling fans require periodic cleaning of blades to avoid dust accumulation, checking screws and connections for firmness, and occasional lubrication for components, keeping the fan running smoothly and quietly over time.

Since the cost of installing a ceiling fan is $250 for most homeowners, it might be beneficial to replace your existing fan if you are experiencing a significant repair issue, like a broken motor. However, for less expensive repairs, like a fan blade replacement, you’ll likely spend less on the repair than a complete fan replacement. Of course, if you’re looking for an upgrade or a new style fan, replacing it altogether is always an option.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.
