We're World Class Maintenance chimney specialists located in Huntington Station, Long Island. We service Suffolk County, Nassau County & New York City. We provide expert chimney services for an affordable price. Some of our chimney services include chimney cleanings, stainless steel liner installations, masonry repair, caps, damper replacement, chase covers installed, and much more. We are a family owned and operated business and the owner who has over 35 years experience will always be one of the men coming to your house. We have an A+ record with the BBB, a result of having not one complaint with over 3,000 customers serviced in the 10 years we've been open. We're an award winning chimney company having won the 2018 Best of HomeAdvisor Award and the 2016 and 2017 Thumbtack Top Pro Award. We're World Class Maintenance, for your world class home!

"Anthony and his team stopped by to give me an estimate on removing a 6" flex pipe that had been installed in the chimney pipe to vent a wood stove. They climbed the roof, inspected the chimney and determined the flex pipe did not run the length of the two story chimney but was about 6-8' in length. They removed it and also took care of its disposal. And the cost was absurdly reasonable - dinner for two would have cost more. Can’t say enough good things about World Class Maintenance Inc. - these guys are the best!"

"I was very pleased with the work that was done by this company. Initially I thought that I only needed a chimney cap installed, but after a careful inspection of my chimney, it was found that a crumbling and deteriorating lining of my chimney interior wall had occurred leaving a potentially dangerous situation in my house. I was actually shown the damage so I could determine for myself the extent of the problem. The company installed a new lining and chimney cap in a short period of time, leaving a clean work area. The workmen were extremely polite and answered all my questions thoroughly. I would definitely recommend them for chimney work."

We are a chimney and gutter company that prides itself on our customer service, and we stand behind our 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. We do all phases of chimney cleaning, work & repair including any and all types of masonry construction. We also handle all phases of gutter repair and fabrication of new gutters, including soffit and fascia construction/repair.

"I signed a contract with North American Chimney on February 1st. I was provided an estimate on the spot and was happy to get a project started. The first appointment was canceled due to a blizzard. On the rescheduled date, I notified the receptionist there was snow and ice on the roof, and was told, “we work in these conditions all the time”. The installer arrived, and said it was too icy. I was fine, and rescheduled. On the third attempt, I again called and said, it seemed “icy to me”. The receptionist said they would make the decision when they arrived. Upon arrival, the installer said it was dangerous and he would prefer to reschedule. I agreed. He called the owner in front of me, and said, “the owner does not want us on the roof”. This was an outright lie. It was the installer’s decision. When he hung up the phone, I inquired why he did that. “It’s just easier that way to say it was you”. On the fourth attempt, the chase cover, and two caps were installed. The roof was clear, but it was bitterly cold. I asked if that would prevent any caulk from curing; “we work in all type of weather”. I thought it was finally done. Two days later, the garage was flooded with a white, milky water. I collected nearly four gallons of water in buckets. When I called, I was told the installer said I had another issue on the roof and that was the problem. I said, it is definitely your issue. After some back and forth, I was able to get an appointment. When the installer arrived, he was rude and accusatory. That was, until he saw the collection of white water, and when I pointed to the two flues in the garage, and sunlight was visibly shining in. The appointment was clearly tense, and I was glad when they were done. Following the replacement of the roof, there was a downpour with wind, and leak appeared on the ceiling upstairs. At first, the obvious culprit was the roofer. That was, until I got up and inspected the quality of the chase cover/cap installation. (see attached pictures). After several hours, we proved the roof was not the issue, and I called North American Chimney. The receptionist said she would pull the paperwork and get back to me. I told her, the original installer made me uncomfortable and I wanted someone else from the company to correct the problem. She agreed. The next day, I was told by receptionist, the owner said the original installer would have to repair the situation. As was communicated to me “I had no alternative then to give him the option to fix it”. Two days, later, with no further communication, not even to schedule the original installer, I called and indicated I would take care of this myself. It is very unfortunate that with this company, the word of the customer has no value. I’ve had to defend myself that issues the installer left truly existed, and also, I’m told that I have no alternative but to have an installer come to my house and generate a tense situation. At no time did the owner reach out and try to resolve the situation. See the pictures. This is what $3000 of materials and installation looks like, and now I’m left to deal with it. And by the way, the website’s primary screen says, “Honesty, integrity, and Reliable Service with a 100% Money Back Guarantee”. I wonder if that will happen."

"Paulie was awesome. He messaged me as soon as he saw the job and offered to come first thing this morning - which was awesome, given that we had ANOTHER bird fly down the chimney yesterday. Paulie was professional, incredibly experienced and offered a very fair price. He told me what the quote was and offered to do the work on the spot, which was kind of wild since it was pouring. He got soaked and didn't care in the least because he said this is just what happens in his field. I would hire Paulie again in a heartbeat."

Chimney sweeping services FAQs

While it’s possible to sweep your own chimney, it’s usually not a good idea for two reasons. First, inexperienced DIYers are more likely to miss areas of the chimney, which still leaves the risk of house fire due to the remaining residue. Second, chimney sweeping seems like a simple process, but it’s highly dangerous. Soot and creosote are both carcinogenic and can cause breathing issues and lung damage. If you don’t take the same safety precautions that professionals do, you could be putting yourself at risk of serious bodily harm.

You should plan to ask your chimney sweeper questions about the cleaning process they intend to use, the project timeline, and more to get a sense of which professional is right for the job:

  • What is your process for cleaning chimneys?

  • How long will the process take?

  • Will you protect my floors from soot and debris?

  • Will you do a chimney inspection, too?

  • Do you have certification from the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) or the National Fire Institute (NFI)?

  • Will you need access to my roof?

The average cost for a professional chimney cleaning is around $250, but prices range from $130 to $400 or more, depending on a few factors. Some things that have an impact on your total include the size of your chimney, the number of chimneys cleaned, and how accessible the chimneys are.

In some cases, you don’t need to do anything to prepare for chimney sweeping, but professionals always appreciate leaving the area clean and easy to access. As such, it’s a good idea to move fireplace accessories like screens and fire tending tools out of the way, and lay down tarps of drop cloths around your fireplace opening to help keep your floors clean. Laying down a plastic sheet under those cloths or tarps is a good idea if your fireplace is surrounded by carpeting, just to add extra protection. Finally, secure any pets or children away from the work area.

The National Fire Prevention Agency (NFPA) recommends chimney sweeping once per year as a means of avoiding house fires and massive property damage. Over time, creosote and soot build up in your chimney from burning wood and a lack of ventilation. These compounds are both highly flammable, which means a build-up of them inside your chimney puts you at an increased risk of house fire. Chimney sweeping removes any residue and helps reduce the risk of property damage and personal injury from fire.
