"Luigi and his team did an incredible job replacing my front steps and all the concrete/masonry around the front of my home. It was easy to communicate with Luigi in order to figure out exactly what we wanted, and the execution of everything was flawless. I highly recommend Luigi for any brick masonry you'd need done on your home."

"Thank you so much for the great job you and your company has done in replacing the walkway on the side of my house. The job was completed on time, quickly, efficiently and neatly. Due to the new walkway the basement did not leak after the recent rain. I will be using Red Brick Masonry, Inc again."

"Sonny installed a beautiful bluestone patio for us. He was patient with us as we decided on which stone to use, navigated tricky installation around basement windows and grills, and installed the patio in a single day! His team cleaned up all materials and were very precise in the stone cuts and cement seams. It has been almost a year since installation and it has held up beautifully, even through the snow and salt this winter!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Pete was very professional. He re pointed all the mortar on my slate walkway. He completed the job, on time and on estimate. He was very upfront about the mess it would create and warned me ahead of time to move cars etc. When the workers were done, they cleaned up. The work was done approx 6 months ago and shows no signs of poor workmanship."

"RiteTech was hired to do what we thought would be a simple pointing job. As things progressed the workers uncovered a larger problem. Under the guidance of Jay, the general manager, the crew managed to carefully demolish and skillfully rebuild the water damaged parapet wall. Definitely would recommend RiteTech to friends and family. They are very knowledgeable in masonry work. I found them to be trustworthy and honest, and offered great customer service."

"The entire project took one week. The driveway was completed in two days and the masonry steps in three. The entire project went well with Ravinder's workers cleaning up after themselves each evening. The workers appear to take pride in their work which showed in the product produced. Ravinder is a good manager who was mostly onsite and on top of things. My sole gripe is Ravinder could have done a better job in reassuring my concerns regarding cement in cold weather that I found on the internet."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is essential to prime or seal a brick fireplace before painting. Brick is a porous and highly absorbent material, so without a primer, paint can seep into the surface, resulting in uneven coverage and allowing the natural brick color to show through. To avoid this, apply one or two coats of a masonry primer. The primer will seal the brick and provide a smooth, uniform layer for the paint to adhere to. Ensure the primer is completely dry before applying the topcoat of paint.

Yes, but used or reclaimed bricks can be more brittle, cracked, or uneven than new bricks, so they’re harder to cut cleanly by hand. For that reason, you should take extra care when scoring and striking, and expect a higher chance of breakage. If a brick feels especially fragile, score deeper before attempting to split it.

Yes, depending on the type of pavers you have, you may need a specific type of sealant. For example, concrete pavers will bond differently than clay pavers or faux stone pavers and will demand a different type of sealer. If you’re unsure of the material and what type of sealant you need, you can contact the company that laid your pavers down for you.

Yes, it is usually possible to repair a damaged brick mailbox. A professional brick mason or masonry contractor can perform the repairs. They can assess the damage, provide an estimate, and help you determine if the repair is worthwhile based on the mailbox's value and the extent of the damage. The repair process may involve sourcing replacement bricks and mortar. Damaged bricks can be cut out and replaced, or the mortar joints can be cut out and retucked. It's important to note that the new mortar may differ in color from the original. If the mailbox insert itself is damaged, it can typically be cut out and replaced as well. If your brick mailbox has been completely destroyed, you should check with your local building code enforcement office before rebuilding, as some areas do not allow brick mailboxes due to the potential hazard they pose to drivers.

A fireplace is, by definition, an enclosed space where you burn wood or other fuel for the purpose of generating light and heat. A firepit burns wood and is much less expensive to build, but they aren’t technically a fireplace as it isn’t enclosed. An outdoor oven—commonly outdoor brick pizza ovens—often uses wood as fuel, but its primary purpose is to cook food, and you’d rarely just burn wood inside them for warmth or aesthetic reasons.
