"Luigi and his team did an incredible job replacing my front steps and all the concrete/masonry around the front of my home. It was easy to communicate with Luigi in order to figure out exactly what we wanted, and the execution of everything was flawless. I highly recommend Luigi for any brick masonry you'd need done on your home."

"I had a photo of a brick pattern I saw in NC and shopped it around to several companies. Thiago was prompt in responding to my inquiry and providing an estimate. After a clarifications, we signed a contract and work began within a few months. The crew was super courteous and easy to work with. Any issues or concerns I had during the installation were immediately addressed without any hesitation or pushback. I am very pleased with the finished product."

"We hired JB to put in a short driveway and repair some broken concrete in front of our garage. It was a joint project with the next door neighbors, who also needed their bluestone sidewalk replaced with concrete in order to make a workable driveway. I asked if I could have the salvaged bluestone. JB took care of the city permits, and the workers were there at 8 AM, prying up bluestone and piling it neatly in my back yard. The driveway looks great."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

High foot traffic in multi-generational homes accelerates wear on softer stones. NY experiences severe freeze-thaw cycles that damage exterior entryways, so select climate-rated materials for outdoor marble and granite service. High summer humidity extends indoor curing times in older homes lacking central air conditioning. Additionally, soft, slightly acidic local tap water combined with harsh household cleaners will etch stone surfaces over time. Use gentle cleaning products to protect your investment.

Helpful?

Proper maintenance for masonry work involves annual spring inspections to spot cracked bricks or displaced stones caused by freezing weather. Repoint mortar joints every few decades to prevent severe erosion. Inspect chimney crowns regularly to block water entry. Clean off white mineral staining caused by local humidity and flooding. Reapply penetrating sealants every few years to protect retaining walls from the high NY water table.

Helpful?

Combining marble and granite service with plumbing or electrical upgrades is highly efficient. Flushing building boards strictly limit active renovation periods, making bundled projects ideal. Older homes hide outdated galvanized pipes or damaged drain lines that require replacement once floors open up. If you live in a flood-prone zone, pair your stone installation with subfloor waterproofing. Consolidating trades also minimizes neighborhood disruptions and streamlines mandatory municipal inspections.

Helpful?

Address unstable parapets, active water leaks, and deteriorating bricks near structural supports immediately to ensure safety. These hazardous conditions worsen quickly during freezing weather. You can safely delay cosmetic issues like minor surface staining or shallow mortar erosion. Schedule non-emergency masonry work between late spring and early fall to guarantee proper mortar curing in the NY climate. Always prioritize structural safety over cosmetic upgrades.

Helpful?

You will find several types of professionals handling masonry work in Flushing. General contractors and specialty subcontractors focus on residential brickwork, pointing, and block repairs. Chimney specialists handle rebuilding and crown repair. Landmark contractors manage historic preservation projects using period-appropriate materials. Concrete specialists address poured foundation repairs and basement water infiltration. Always hire licensed contractors to ensure your project meets all structural and safety standards.
