"It is a decent system but nothing much different than the other companies offer. Cost of service per moth is below. They were highly rated at the time but see that their rating has dropped."

"Toby and his helper did a very thorough and professional job cleaning and inspecting our chimney. Both young men were very careful to contain any mess associated with their work. Most importantly we had recently had a new chimney built and he was able to warn us that it was constructed incorrectly and we were in danger of a fire. He not only clearly told us what needed to be done, but he was willing to speak to the contractor on our behalf in order to support our assertions that repairs were needed."

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on the extent of damage, material restoration, labor, and emergency service requirements.

The timeline for smoke damage remediation can range from a single day to several months, depending on the extent of the damage, the size of the affected area, and the methods used. For minor damage, such as removing cigarette smoke odors from a single room, the process might take only one to two days and typically involves deep cleaning, painting, and sealing walls. Some methods, like ozone treatments, can take 24 to 48 hours, though multiple treatments may be necessary. More extensive smoke damage, such as from a house fire, can take three weeks or longer to clean and treat. If significant material restoration or replacement is needed, the timeline can extend to six to 12 months. A smoke damage restoration professional can provide a more accurate estimate for your specific situation.

The most common causes of kitchen fires are leaving cooking food unattended, frying food with excessive amounts of oil, and leaving flammable objects near the stovetop.

Yes, a bowl of vinegar can absorb smoke. If you want to use this method to reduce the smoke smell in your house, all you have to do is leave a bowl (or multiple bowls) of white vinegar out overnight. Alternatively, you can use bowls of baking soda, coffee grounds, or activated charcoal.

Depending on who’s doing the estimating, about 22,000 to 25,000 chimney fires happen each year in the United States. Given the fact that millions of Americans have fireplaces (and chimneys), that means chimney fires aren’t exactly common—but they’re not rare, either. Since they’re so dangerous, it’s important to take precautions to prevent them.
