"As with all home improvement projects, you're going to run into unseen problems. Tom had to move a dishwasher, a dryer and washing machine. He noticed that the dryer vent was installed incorrectly and there was an electrical issue with the dishwasher. He fixed all that. He didn't have to be concerned about any of that, but he genuinely was concerned.
These are busy guys and I can see why. They came out immediately to look at the project. They gave me an estimate as to when they could do the job, and they called every week with an update. Very reassuring.
They are kind and very professional. I already have another project for them. Can't wait. It truly has been a wonderful experience. You hear so much negative crap about contractors and scam artists these days, it is SO refreshing to come across a company like this!!!!

"I found John's name and contact information on the Irondequoit group on Facebook after several people had recommended him for HVAC services. After my furnace ignitor began to malfunction, I called him up and he was able to come over to look at the problem on the same day, and summarized my options to remedy the problem including parts, materials, labor costs, etc. As my boiler system is over 30 years old at this point, I opted to go with a brand new one. Knowing that my boiler may be nearing the end of its lifespan (and in the middle of winter) John scheduled himself for the work within a week's time. He was in my home all day and installed my new boiler along with the accompanying new piping, parts and fittings, including expansion tank, shut off valves, flu vents, etc. He was very professional, thorough, courteous, and cleaned up my basement and left it the way I found it. "These guys are great!!!  I lost power to half my house Sunday 1/31 and they came out the same day to access the problem.  Turns out I needed a new breaker box (not a surprise we knew the one that came with the house was not gonna cut it).  They moved some things around so we would be able to use our kitchen for the day and came back Monday morning to replace out early '70's era breaker box with a shiny new 21st century model.  I am super pleased with the turnaround, the price and flexibility of the whole affair.  Oh and they fixed my loose sink to boot!  I will definitely have them back to fix more stuff!

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
