"Paul was very personable and knowledgeable. He cut down several dead, very tall old trees in the back of our lot. It was done efficiently. The trees were cut down and taken away and debris cleaned up sufficiently. "Our backyard ground cover was out of control and needed to be removed, along with raking and removing leaves from our easement and general spring clean-up. You can use a felling ax to chop down a tree by following the same prep and steps as a chainsaw, but be prepared to use some muscle. For trees bigger than 7 inches in diameter, it can take some time and serious strength to cut down a tree using just an ax. 

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

If you’re looking to rot a tree stump fast, potassium nitrate will work far quicker than copper nails. First, drill several holes into the stump using a power drill, then pour potassium nitrate pellets into the holes. Next, add water to help the chemical absorb into the wood, thoroughly soaking the stump to ensure the pellets dissolve and spread evenly. Afterward, cover the stump with a tarp to retain moisture and block sunlight, then place mulch on top to secure it in place.

If you aren’t sure what you’re doing, be very careful when cutting mature tree roots (roots larger than 2 inches). Root cutting and pruning can affect both a tree’s stability and its ability to nourish itself. Issues during root cutting can result in damage or injury.
