"We had a leak in the roof of our house which suddenly became visible and got worse quickly although the roof is only fifteen years years old. Aron from same day roofing recommended to not only check and repair in the area with the leak but to install new two layer felt underlayment. SAMâ s team was well organized and did excellent work. In hindsight Iâ m happy we decided to re roof the complete roof"

"They just finished removing 2 skylights from my roof. They were fast, courteous, and great cleaning up. You would never know the skylights were there. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing roof work. The price was reasonable as well."

Customers say: Quality work

"Dave's team installed new sidings for my house 8 years ago and there is absolutely zero issue, even after so many years. That's why I contact Dave when it's time for roof replacement. Again I made the right call and Dave's team did excellent job in a professional way. They are hard working and dedicated to the job. I am very happy with the new roof and would definitely recommend Dave's team to neighbors and friends."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The best way to check if a roofing company is legit is by asking the roofer for their license number. They should have no issue providing you with this information if they’re legitimate. You can also look to see if they have an online presence, read reviews, and ask contractors you’ve worked with before if they know the roofing company.

There’s no single best roofing material for flat roofs, but EPDM is considered an excellent option because it lasts longer than TPO roofing and built-up roofing, and it’s the most adaptive to extreme temperatures and variations in temperature. EPDM can also be highly energy-efficient at both ends of the climate spectrum, with black EPDM helping to reduce heating bills and white EPDM helping to keep your building cool in extreme summer temperatures.

Roofing jobs can be expensive due to the required materials and the dangerous nature of the labor. The cost to repair a roof ranges from $390 to $1,920, with an average cost of $1,150, depending on what kind of roof you have and any accessibility concerns. Replacing a roof is much more expensive at $5,890 to $12,800.

Roof vents are an essential part of a roof, as they promote energy efficiency by keeping warm, humid air at bay. The roofing material, especially asphalt shingles, will not last as long as it should (about half of its manufacture life) if the attic is not ventilated. Also, going without ventilation means having a warm attic that demands more from your air conditioning system (and your wallet, once the bills come). Ridge vents and roof vents also prevent a host of other icky moisture-related problems like rot, mold, and mildew.

Whether a metal or shingle roof is better for you depends on your preferences. Standing seam metal roofs require little to no maintenance, but if you install a screw-down metal roof where the fasteners are exposed, the gaskets on the fasteners will dry rot and need to be replaced. Generally, screw-down metal roofs need to be re-screwed every 15 to 20 years.

Metal roofs are energy-efficient and have extended warranties, while asphalt shingles are less durable than most. They tend to lose color and get damaged over time, and absorb heat from the sun.
